Good exercises for developing perception skills? Some of the exercises in this book seem pretty silly but they are suppose to work.

practice practice practice, draw people in real life, practice different angles and perspectives, fisheye lens drawing and stuff. It's something you have to teach yourself with shear labor.
kim jung gi is a perfect example of incredible eyeballing skill, he doesn't use a single guide line and I doubt he ever read a book on it. He probably draws more in 1 year than the rest of us draw in 3 or 4 years

Why don't you try it for yourself? It will only take you 2 week, if you draw a few hours every night.

There are mostly three sides:

Don't waste your time reading the whole thing: here are the notes I took while going through the New Drawing on the Derp Side of the Brain.

Read it to decide if it's worth a try, if so you can also use it as a guideline for the exercises. This way you'll save yourself a hundred pages of happy anecdotes, broscience and buddha quotes.
