Your colors are all way too saturated, so I toned them down. I pushed up the brightness of the flowers so they look like they're glowing, as well as lit the underside of the guy so he looks more menacing. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but just a suggestion.

I just wanna fucking draw cute anime girls but I've stuck in a rut of mediocrity for 3 years barely drawing and putting off important foundational shit like ctrl+paint. All I did was take a drawing class at university that taught me jack shit about composition, perspective, and lighting.

I'm so angry and I don't think I've ever felt this before, how do I channel this anger and keep fueling it? I don't want to be mediocre anymore. I wanna get my ass moving. I want to learn. I've had enough with stagnation.

Pretty nice overall. I think some of the stylization choices are a bit inconsistent though, and some proportion things are not as pleasing as they could be.

The poses and expressions can be pushed a bit more too.

i just scan them in b&w. most scanners have the capability to scan in color, greyscale and b&w. the b&w mode is typically for scanning text and usually these options can be found within the scanning software that probably came with your scanner along with what program the files open in, where they're saved, etc. its different for every scanner but i'm sure some diggin will procure something

which ones in particular are less favourable? these are only my favourites of the sketches and its good to know how what i thought was the best appeals to others so i can make a more informed decision of what final design to go with.

Firstly up your resolution. It's hard to manipulate pixels and define forms at such a small size.

Second, learn painting with values. Pixel art has more in common with painting than digital painting because it looks it's best when you choose and apply blocks of color, instead of relying on fancy textures and filters. (Look at the difference between Owlboy and Superbrothers/Hotline Maimi).

There are plenty of tutorials on youtube and resources in the sticky about grayscale painting and defining value.

I more than understand if you're a developer trying to keep workflow smooth, but if you want to stick with pixel art in the long run, learn the ins-and-outs of traditional art in the mean time.

I was referring to the lines you've used that come from the impact of that person and the wall. Debris was probably the wrong word.

I'd go with something closer to the explosion near the puncher. It looks a lot less scribbly. Its a lot better near the centre of the impact but as it reaches into the distance the loose lines look strange.

I don't, but the lenght of the feet is really minor. Just compare the size of the lower and upper parts of the body. Most parts have a problem.

Sweet, it's a nice style. I think the hatching on his arm looks a bit sloppy the way you squiggle and sometimes overlap a bit. Looks better when it's a bit cleaner like on his shirt. Have you tried out different hatching styles? Whether it's a more decorative thing like Toppi, or a more simple thing like Moebius, or maybe you don't need it at all and can do with flat shapes.
