Duplicate your psds! At the start of the day (or if you take a long break), copy the PSD you're working on so that you have a backup. The next break, copy a new one and delete the outdated copy.

Quit learning from Loomis. The problem with Loomis is his style is so heavy and dated that beginner artists who learn the "loomis method" only learn how to draw LIKE loomis, which limits you to his personal 1920's brochure style of drawing. Give other figure drawing methods a try before taking on the advanced methods used by Loomis, and do them sparingly and with your own style.
