Even with patreon, you're restricted to being fan-art focused if you want any kind of moderate gain. Not to mention there are plenty of patreons that allow their patrons to enter polls to decide what gets drawn.

Fan-art deals with drawing IPs you don't own, that makes them about drawing the ideas (characters, setting, etc) of other people by default. The difference is the people who own those ideas aren't paying you to draw them because you like them enough to do it for free. The rapoza shadows work in a lot of areas and fail hard in a lot of others (buckles mostly). Think more about form in 3d and if you see that a style is not working in a lot of areas(one single high color multiply layer for every shadow), have the balls to change it up as needed.

Okay dear anon, here it is.
As you can probably appreciate, JUST by changing the face a bit the whole "stifness" changes. That's because Link's face was the most noticeable thing about the drawing. I know keeping an original style is important, but more important is trying to mimic the features of the characters you're drawing the best of your ability. Link's eyes are big, his face is round and his nose is pointy. Always try to see what's the most noticeable feature of the character and try to draw that, no matte how you do it, it'll always end up looking like the character.

Now your highlights!
Your anatomy is great.
Your colors are great.
Your composition is gold
Anon, you've got amazing potential and you musn't waste it by any chance. Keep drawing, keep practicing, but for the love of god don't post it here on /IC/. As for not posting on /ic/, I've found that keeping part in a community is vital for taking part in any hobby (from fitness to paper mache (and honestly, I've looked around and there isn't much in the way of art communities around)). It gets a bad rap - problem is that most of the critique on this board is via text, which is heavily dependent on your interpretation.

Which means there's a lot of miscommunication if you're not in the assumed knowledge pool (I mean just look at the previous comments on the image, haven't the foggiest what was going on), and things can turn nasty if you're too insecure and think you're being attacked.

You got to inking without actually fixing the problems, it gets progressively harder to fix shit from then on because you are modifying something without completely redrawing it, and if you do end up redrawing you have no underlying sketch to base yourself off

Try and strike any pose you are trying to draw before you finalize it. Don't need the whole pose, in this case try and pull something by keeping both your deltoids relaxed (elbow down) and your vambrace pulling the weight with that wirst twisting going on.
You'll find out that if you want your elbow lowered, you'll have to lower the vambrace too, same with rising and pulling with your vambrace, you'll end up rising your whole arm outwards while your dorsals do the heavy lifting
