The problem is the lack of difference in tone, not the color itself. Characters have pretty much the same tone as the background they're at. Exceptions are satyr's horns and hooves, they stand out and are readable. Everything else blends with the background. Ideally, for a pic to look good and make an urge to click for a full resolution, sihlouettes of characters should be readable on a thumbnail. Btw thats how most of pros work - do a lot of thumbnails for tones and composition, choose the best one and start adding detail after.

2nd problem is perspective on the background. According to characters, the horison line is roughly somewhere between saryr's balls and dick, theres quite a low POV. If thats a horizon line at the top of the pic, where faraway trees get small, it is fucked up a big time. If they're at the base of the hill and thats a slope with trees behind them, it's still fucked up, cuz trees go out of perspective that way. That way trees go perpendicular to the slope, and grow at some angle to the ground. With a low POV like that you'll see it as if you were under a tree, see all the branches from below. My english is bad, hope you get it. Everything thats above horison you see from below. Like Alika's face and ass, you see it from below.

So the solution of both problems, that might be time consuming and not worth to make the commissioner wait.
You put the horizon line where it should be, delete all those trees behind, make a sky there, so characters will pop out being a darker tone above a brighter one. I know a forest is a must there, so add some trees affected by perspective, ones you actually see from below, and aerial perspective.

The main thing is to add tone difference, so characters are readable, don't blend with the background and it doesn't look like a mess on a thumbnail. Keeping it simple it's either dark characters on a light background, or light chars on a dark bg. Rim lighting also helps, in case you find a place to fit a light source there.

Did I say that? It's not that surprising, sometimes I get feelings like I should be doing something else since I have a BS in chemistry. That would be more of a 'real job' for me since its in the field I majored in, but when I compare salaries and shit, it comes out to about the same. The dithering is doing you no good. Add more flats, the dithering makes the highlights and some of the shading unreadable. You dont have to get rid of all of it, but remember that it's a tool to break up hard lines, not for just dark.

You should go a step back and study perspective and how it affects the human body. What you are doing at the moment is polishing turds (adding broken anatomy symbols and coloring the whole thing).
