Like with anything, the bigger the userbase, the more watered down it gets.

Every major nerd/loser hangout on the web has gone through this. It used to be that I would mention certain sites and absolutely none of my "normie" friends would be interested. Then a few years later, it's all "LOL LE MEME, LE FEELS, AND LE INTERNETS."

Give it 10 years. Nerds will be back on the bottom, and it will start all over again
