ok guys. Im finally taking the step from always sketching to try make something somewhat finalized, but i have no idea how to go about this process.

With pic related for example, its not done / final. but im wondering,
What kind of line size would you use for something you would color? With my thick lines i feel like it would look terrible.
Is it too detailed for semi "cutesy" style?
Do you draw on a huge canvas and zoom in doing every line?

I feel like i can keep it like this if im going for the manga look but i really dont know.
Im lost, help!

Finalizing and polishing projects comes down to what style you want and like. You could keep the lineart as-is, or you could completely paint over it - it doesn't really matter what you do and you simply have to figure out how you go about it yourself by trying different things over and over and eventually you'll find a style you like. Either way however if you don't want to go for the easy block-in color manga-looking style, a nice start for painting is blocking in and adding greyscale values. Where you go from there is entirely up to you.

I find it funny how /ic/ spent years saying stylization was something you didn't need to learn and that Loomis was all you ever needed, then they got minimally decent at naturalism and realized "shit, stylization is an actual thing you gotta learn".

Stylization has a lot to do with design, visual language, line economy and, when it comes to characters, storytelling.
Take out a notepad and write a brief on your character, who she is, what she does, what's the goal of the character and what you hope to communicate through her.
Then read about logo and brand design. A lot of it can be applied to character design and will help you envision and actually design your character before you start drawing.
Finally re-read "Fun with a Pencil". Jack Hamm's "Cartooning the Head and Body" and Ben Caldwell's "Fantasy Cartooning" are also useful for rediscovering the value of line economy and geometrical design in drawing.

Now practice.

You should really construct the shapes for the form before you start laying in things, I think. You've got their necks connecting way too far down. Shoulders connect completely wrong as well. Look at some human torsos and compare/contrast.

Construct your forms more before laying in these flats, flip your image.

Ehh, your shoulders and necks are still wrong, even with the redraw. You're sticking them on instead of building them. It's a bit better than the first try though.

I know it's cliche and trite, but please look into the fundamentals, like how the musculature overlaps and attaches around the neck and shoulders, as well as how the neck and collarbones line up. Even a little bit of looking over some material and being thoughtful about how it applies will help you immensely. The OP has plenty of resources, take some time for them.

No shit, that's what I was doing while drawing it. Problem is Murata simply doesn't draw the outline of the nose, compared to here where I had to because of the shadows.
Anatomically speaking, the nose is in the same position as Murata's and it's not any longer. Tried some variations for the shape of it and this one ended up looking the most okay. If you can find a way to make it looks better then why not giving it a try.

said is right. You drew the bridge almost straight from where it starts to the peak of her nose, along with the nose itself being crooked.

I don't read wanpanman, but you'll need to show me what panel you were looking at, because to me it looks like you were looking at a JoJo panel. She looks like Dio. Araki's girls aren't known for being soft of features, and that's all I could think the entire time I was redoing a lot of this. Your eyes are much too small in comparison to the proportions he's given her, and I think your head is probably too tall in general. You can see that the wanpan artist does not give her those full, pouty lips, because they look too adult.

If all of this is in the original and it really looks close to this, forgive me, but I draw a lot of loli faces and I feel I still could not make her look young enough without getting rid of lines and redrawing the entire thing.

I'm not the anon that complained, but that area does look a bit odd. I think that you have drawn things pretty well, but the way the forms sit in space does not make sense. Try holding the pose yourself, and see where your arm is in space compared to your head...when I do it my chin is hidden behind the arm, but in your drawing the chin is in front of the arm. It takes a lot of effort and is very uncomfortable to lift my chin over my shoulder like that (granted, I'm a dude and not a 12yo girl, but I think the point still stands). I also think the scapula can be further rotated towards the boob and away from the spinal column. The way you draw the spine of the scapula and the trapezius going into it also feels a bit awkward.
