In this painting you can see very distinct faces with facial expressions that can only be made by that face.

The art your posting has anime faces that are not at all the least bit unique. It looks like most anime out there and because of that it makes the painting overall generic. If they're going to use anime they should at least develop their own personal style into it.

For example my pic related. While anime it has more refined and individual style.

It's the settings that are the refined and individual style. It doesn't matter what style they draw faces in, the girls are simply an appealing accessory like a model posing on top of a fancy car. The model may have gotten your attention but ultimately they're selling you the car, not her.

There are a lot of (not just anime) artists who draw simple or samey faces or constantly use the same "muse" but usually they have something else to make up for it like here. I'd be bothered if it was only the girl and nothing else going on like with Tony Taka.

I might be feeling fear - I have no idea what it will do. It could be a friend. I might even be the same species of alien.

The colors are distinct, but soft enough so I don't get annoyed.

This may not be my favorite. It's the one I'm feeling the most right now.

I got to see a franz klline retrospective ages ago. his work is surprisingly complex. So many layers in the darkest and lightest parts. He'd add a layer of iridescence on top of the black that give it a faint glow.

It's pretty good stuff.

I do not get this man's art at all. I suspect he's ripping off the expressionists and never getting it right, but with enough investment behind him for none of it to matter.

Man, I've seen this painting tons of times and admired it in the past, but somehow I never noticed it had the little guy in it before. I like it more without him. It was nice just admiring the landscape itself as a thing of beauty, and refreshing to have the focal point just be the red sand in the foreground that then leads your eye deeper into the space and light behind it.
