heres a sched w/ pretty pictures, good for a laptop wallpaper.

mind you, unless you have zen monk discipline then you are going to have a hard time following a premade schedule. Its better to set your own pace.

I'd actually like to see some posted too. I took a long break from drawing and I'm rusty as fuck. Bought some anatomy and figure drawing books that I'm reading through, but with a full-time job I'm trying to set aside time for improvement but roommate/friends are making that tough too.

Glory and /sic/ were study groups/projects.
Schedule was roughly followed for 2-3 months. It's inspired by Dave Rapoza's (pic related) and Draw or Die's schedule.

>>2098691

If it makes you feel better I didn't do most of the stuff after 1:30 because I usually had to work at that time. Hence why studies are all in the morning. It was more of a 'when you are not working/busy, this is what you should be doing' sort of thing.
Doing the full week regularly was a neet goal more than anything.
I posted that in a schedule thread a while back because it was helping me at the time and doing everything on it seemed 'ideal' to getting good at the time, but it's very personalized. Most days were only 3-6 hours of actual drawing.

I do things differently now but I plan on hopping back on the something similar to that once I get my shit together again.

I draw for an hour each day in my lunch break. Slow days I'll do some basic line exercises too.

I'd post samples of my works but they are so good I doubt these servers could handle the extra traffic. Or, of course, my work is just really shitty.

I think it is better to just fight your difficulties, and try to improve on one part at a time or 2/3 if it works. You dont need to make a schedule that is same every week.
My approach: make a sketch/full piece => what is off? => study that => new piece => what is wrong? => study
Also I spend every few days some hours on composition and reading. Also good to look how other artists tackle sutff and such. It is important to do things as life-studies and anatomy studies too. But doing anatomy for 4hours+ a day is noncense. Yo will be good at anatomy but your other fundamentals will be lacking or you will have boring pieces. A schedule can be good if you are just starting out though and learning the basics of the fundamentals, like gesture and perspective and value.

it's not about time, and these exercices does not seem a time waste, on copy exercices for later regurgitate will be oriented to my project needs, if you read the program it's obvious you cant do this mindlessly as it's not about 2d copying

forgot to say, so far only 1 male & female head drawings and regurgited, 2x2 more to go, bodys and then project :/

>> No.2099268

I draw from 6pm to 9pm everyday
I draw in 30 minute intervals with about 5 minutes break in between intervals
I spend the first hour drawing casually to warm up and then the next 2 hours drawing whatever needs drawing. If I have some lineart that needs doing I'll do that in the last hour because it's a fuck hard thing to do and you gotta be smoking on the floor for it.

I started the schedule by observing what times I would naturally feel like drawing. I expand it by an hour whenever I feel I can handle another hour.

Any advice for someone wanting to get proficient while holding down a job?

>> No.2102163

>>2102131
What kind of job? Part-time or Actual job?
I set my study schedule based on how many hours I work per day. You could do the same to fit your goals.

8 hour work day
>Ten 2-minute gestures
>Ten 15-minute studies
>30-minutes looking for inspiration, gathering reference, or reading art theory

4 hour work day:
>ten 1-minute gestures
>three 20-minute studies
>one in depth study or illustration from imagination.

Day off:
>Animation study, finished illustration, or contribute to a larger project

Every night I evaluate my work and narrow down what I need the most help with, and then each month I rotate subjects.

part time, but I'm looking to get another to put together 40 hours.

I like that "nightly inventory" idea might have to try that.

I just remind myself every second I'm not painting is a second I'm not getting better. I'm not very organized, but I have the drive.
