hands need work obviously, one of her legs seems off. The shading is nice, her neck seems to be bent at too extreme an angle, uncomfortable if not dangerous but maybe that's just me. The heart shaped figure looks nice but you should work on your anatomy.

Why. You need to focus on learning anatomy vs finished work. Your design is humorous but you covered up her hands, chest, broke her neck and half-ass'd her ass. 5/10, I wish there was more to see rather than using something funny to hide your lack of knowledge.

Ahah.. yes I know. All of my sketches were done in school, during classes instead of paying attention to the lecture. If anyone would like to see them (for more critique? I don't know), I can link them.

I fully realize that I actually need to get a good grasp of fundamentals first. I only drew that for some sort of 'fun', even though it took me 3 hours. It would have probably taken me way more if I had put more effort into it.

I mean, you're right. I completely agree with you. I even feel for myself that I could do more (and everybody tells me I have so much potential from the sketches they've seen) but yeah, I fall short. Recently (like last year or so) I haven't been drawing much and due to that I've fallen into some sort of depression/anxiety over it. Which just proves that I'm my own worst enemy. But I've made a decision to start working hard as of today/this week. I've made a schedule to do fundamentals and also to try to finish one or two things a week for fun.

Anyway, I'm sorry for quite a bit of text. Didn't mean to get all sappy etc. I really appreciate your critique so thank you for that. After all, that's what I'm here for- to post work and get feed back to improve. Cheers.

Make progress, improve, get a job, slay puss with your art. DO IT rather than say it.

Seriously, just work on your stuff with purpose, don't fall short over you thinking you're too old to be doing this or "everyone else is better". Close Reddit, turn off the porn, do work.

When I use things like MS Paint and Sai the image ends up all pixelated, so I open the drawing in a PDF, PrtSc, then crop.
I'm not sure what program has the 'nearest neighbor' business in it.

It looks like MS Paint will scale while preserving aliasing, but doesn't do transparency. SAI doesn't seem to have an option to scale the way we want. I'm learning this myself right now, so I am noticing it more in other peoples work. Her right ear is Mickey-Mousing, her right hand, hips, and forearm are perfectly parallel to the picture plane.
