Okay so I hardly have any drawing skill but I do have skills in 3D (not body modelling though) so I was hoping to maybe do a plan in 3D which could be drawn out in the future.

Basically the two people are in a corner on the floor in a similar position to pic related but actually on the floor side by side instead of one on top.

Does anybody do stuff like this in planning by using 3D 'mannequins' as a sort of base?

Is it a good idea or am I just over complicating stuff?

I guess it depends on what you'd want to get out of it- 3D gives you the freedom for positions and angles, but might lack the organic realism of a reference.

A reference would give you the feel of how the bodies should work, but are more restricting since you might have to settle for whatever is similar to the effect you want

It's only over complicated if you're putting in a lot for very little- make the most of it and it shouldn't matter

Start an account on hentai foundry or DA and fill up a gallery with lewds, your best bet is to start with fan art lewds because that's what people are actually looking for and you need EXPOSURE.

You have perspective construction problems again.
Her upper torso is positioned right in front of the viewer, while her lower torso and legs are positioned like the viewer is standing slightly over the viewer's point of view. Her body is basically broken in two pieces.
Plus there are slight problems with the foreshortening of her arms, but this is mainly a problem because the posture is all over the place.
Check the paintover.

If it is lines or a complete rendered image doesn't really matter if the gesture and overall technique are good (which is the case of this image), I agree. But you must take in consideration that many people don't have the visual capacity/knowledge to enjoy a stylized sketch as they would a full blown rendered finished image. There are people who need to have images represented as close to reality as possible to be able to enjoy them. And many times they don't give a shit about good gesture or perspective or anatomy, they just want to see realistic saliva on a cock, that looks meaty even though the image per se is shit.

This is not a bad attitude at all, but I suggest you to focus on gesture and sketches. Don't get me wrong, you are not completely wasting your time if you try to color every piece you create, since you are still learning some things along the way (even if you are coloring/rendering turds - jk, don't take it badly), but you'll improve a whole lot more if you first learn your anatomy and perspective via studies (draw what you see and not form memory) and gesture drawing. You don't lack coloring and rendering skills (you aren't bad at all at that), it's your construction sketches and line work that need to improve. So you should focus on that instead of trying to hide your mistakes underneath a quite good looking facade. In the end the mistakes are still showing through.

Leave aside the whole building a porn name for now and first learn how to draw good.

if you're drawin for people who wanna fuck horses or animal people or anime creatures, they don't always want "realistically" rendered images, in fact, most of them enjoy cartoonier styles from my experience, which are... not necessarily easier, but quicker to produce, so i'd really suggest not worryin about full blown renderin at this point in your artistic journey.

i can't find the article to save my life, but there was this thing about +1's an how quickly you could do them as opposed to +5's or whatever (+1 bein somethin jus above your skill level while +5 is drastically higher). it's a lot easier an faster to do five +1's than it is to do one +5. think of quick sketches to study anatomy as bein +1's while full blown rendered works are a +5 at the moment. you gotta walk before you can run an all that shit.

Yes, it changes the entire fucking statement. There are a lot of things that add a lot to porn in different ways, and this can make or break an artist, or at least seperate an average artist from the herd.
There are mediocre artists who are popular purely on the basis of their characterization and style, while others are popular because of expressions, poses or unusual angles.

My statement was in regard to the quality of average consumers found in porn. The general masses in the porn sphere have no eye for quality and have shit taste. This isn't false. Mediocre and boring gets you popularity because pandering is the name of the game (see fan-art), and the ones above are in no way "infinitely" more popular because they are still limited by the porn circle in the first place. As a long time Photoshop user, I'm more inclined to agree with this now after using Manga Studio for some time. It's definitely encouraged better linework from me, and I'm pretty happy with it. I just never seemed to be able to get the cleanliness I wanted out of photoshop. Pic related is rough lines.

1. If you need reference for a pose or something, then find it and use it. There is nothing wrong with using reference unless you are using it like Greg Land.

2. Your paneling reads a bit weird? Who are you drawing this for? Whether it's for Western or Eastern readers, please remember that they read either right -> left or left -> right, not right -> up -> down -> left. If you are going to do that you still have to make sure that it reads clearly.

3. Since you seem to be targeting manga/anime fans with this one I'm going to let you know, as someone who reads a considerable amount of hentai, this scenario has been done before, a lot. Did you think your story through? Do you know your characters enough? Knowing your characters through and through does help to alleviate tired cliches from their stories.

NSFW content is by far the most lucrative en-devour a person can have in art unless they get lucky, have amazing talent, a smart business model that fills a need, or a mixture of those. I don't see what you mean. Pic related, lines are drawn from elbow to center of wrist. Arms are the same length, difference in lines is caused by angle of frontmost arm. The arms clearly have the correct length, as the elbow-wrist length reaches a normal distance down the body, especially considering the angle of the chest to the hips.

The only REAL issue here is that the abdomen needs to twist more, and that's probably what got you. The image was clearly drawn from two different guides, but the angles are easily conceivable if you don't incorrectly think that the spine is a hinge. Anon understands angle and skeletal workings well enough, but not the twist and bend of muscles.

I really don'tknow why did you assume I perceive the spine as a hinge. I simply said that her body is drawn from two different points of view and because of that it looks like it's broken. The problem is not that he didn't twist stuff enough, the problem is that he used 2 different perspectives, which I both depicted separately at on the right side of my correction illustration. If the lower body is depicted in such a perspective, the upper body should be getting smaller proportional to the distance from the observer, no matter the bending of the spine.

If you don't see the wrong foreshortening of her right arm (which seems to coincide with you not being able to see what I corrected about the body) , I can't help you. I see it.

As my two cents, you could try to change her pose a bit:
- Use her shoulders more and try to make the shoulder line less flat-horizontal.

I don't really post outside of drawthread deliveries, but does it really matter if SFX are in kana or english? You don't read them literally, not like words in dialogue. Comic SFX are visual shortcuts to sounds that are impossible to transcribe, which is why different cultures have different onomatopoeia for the same sounds.

Going by that logic, kana and english SFX are interchangeable to me. You KNOW what the sound is. I think kana is more dynamic, (it can be displayed vertically much more gracefully and space-efficiently,) and to english readers, it has the added benefit of visual conveyance, without distracting the reader's mind with a particular word.

I don't think it really matters, though. It's weebie, but our japanese readers don't give a shit. It's not like "Gomenasai, my name is Ken-Sama," or some douche getting the chinese character for anus burned into their shoulder. If the context is correct, then why not use the more visually interesting option?

Well, as far as software and hardware go, SAI and Manga Studio/Clip Studio Paint have decent stabilizers, Lazy Nezumi is a fantastic external "drawstring" stabilizer that pairs up with whatever program you're using, and working at higher resolutions can help mask common jitter. If all else fails, you can always try a rougher nib with a piece of paper taped over your tablet.

I like using rough brushes at high resolutions, since they read smoothly at long distance, and the texture masks jitter and looks more pleasant in general to me up close. Sort of like paper grain.
