I'd love to know too. I said last thread this place is full of people who say they want to be great but don't see the value in going outside their comfort zone. They don't realize it's not even about whether they're given a challenge they find worthy, it's their attitude that they'll ONLY take on challenges they find worthy, their short-sighted view that they have nothing to gain from taking on something that may even seem ridiculous and trying to make it awesome. Attitude is everything and nobody wants to hire a diva. Besides all the worst "muh style" are always ones who don't think they need to try anything new, just saying.

The main reason boards such as /pol/ /tv/ /lit/ /fit/ /fa/ /co/ /ck/ /a/ /v/ /vg/ /a/ /ic/ /sp/ /b/ /mu/ and /r9k/ is so shit is because it is inhabited by loser teenagers.

The quality of these boards have dropped dramatically because these are the most basic of interests and appeal to the masses.

This in turn attracts teenagers as they are more knowledgeable about forums and also wish to gain knowledge in these interests.

The same teenagers will also suffer from being lonely or stupid which is evidenced by the fact they will post on /r9k/ also.

Essentially, what killed this site, was the influx of desperate teenagers in the bringing back of /r9k/ and /pol/ and as the memes and overused jokes developed so did this perpetual 4chan state arise.

This, in my humble opinion, is a virtual representation of society when it comes to the arts or popular interests and why coming to this site is not beneficial in the slightest.

If one wishes to become knowledgeable then 4chan (apart from its stickies) is not the place.

I'd say it's because /ic/ is large enough that it reached the shit threshold, where in the board is big enough that the quality threads get flooded out with bullshit lowest common denominator shit. On 4chan lowest common denominator threads are the lowest effort shit like memes, trolling, drama, things of that nature, and high quality shit becomes rarer simply because that requires effort.

Honestly the only way this place can get better is if there's a strong moderation presence to get rid of the low effort bullshit posts (which is against the spirit of 4chan) or if the place gets smaller which means you'd have to wait weeks for answers and critique.

You guys are right. The right eye and the nose are wrong, at least the place, the form not so much. I warpped real quick a bit and I could see the difference (altough I didnt touch the nose).

Parallel lines of photshoped helped me. But I think I actually improved from last portrait, so it's not all wasted.

I suppose I could set those lines on the sketch part, but I dont know if the helps on the long run.

Thank you for the feedback and compliments.

Not that guy, but you've made his nose too long, the space between his mouth and his chin is too small, you ignored the subtle curve of his jawbone on the left and bloated the cheek on the right, you gave the ear on the right a different shape... these are the most glaring. You can render nicely (although to my personal tastes, it's a little too smoothed and cg, but different strokes for different folks) but your art would benefit greatly if you focused on the drawing and proportions a little more before diving into rendering.

I suggest paint tool sai or photoshop for painting. I think clip studio paint is good for illustration with clean lines... Though I sometimes use Sai. Sometimes I use illistrator along with photoshop, or clip studio and photoshop.
Krita is good for illustration and okay for painting.

Overall, for any beginner or advanced user, I suggest paint tool sai if you just want to use one program. I use it for painting and csp for illustration.
