misaligned eyes, recessed hair line, asymetrical cheek bone implants.

you need more loomis. draw 100 loomis heads before trying another portrait

if you want to get 'better' and not more stylized then focus on realism and don't fuck with the proportions so much.

what are you a caricature artist on the street? if not then practice doing it fucking properly there's no reason to stylize it yet

Start drawing from reference and drop any notions of 'style'. Look up proper facial proportions and start analyzing the planes and forms of the face and head.

It would also be behoove of you to learn the anatomy of the skull as well as the muscles in the face. Once you have familiarized yourself then work general to specific, always checking to make sure your proportions are correct. Or rather than working and taking the time to improve you could just disregard everything we've told you and continue spouting how cool and black you are and how we're all just jelly, up to you really.

you guys are ridiculous. art without style is no art.

illastrat, your art wasn't meant to languish as drawing. keep on painting. that's where you shine.

drawing is too simple and focused on detail. You are better at nailing down the center shapes of forms - that makes you a great painter.

Yall see i am working on fundamentals. I like my paintings better too. But i need to get back to the basics. However, my paintings and drawings are night and day. I am a better painter.

Stop. You're only gonna feed his ego and lull him into a false sense of security. In order to stylize and not have it look like complete shit you need to have an understanding of the ideal. For the purpose of practicing and internalizing the basics trying to style things without knowing them won't help at all.

How do you think classic American animators were able to make cartoon characters show so much emotion? They knew how to draw the real thing and with that knowledge they knew what to exaggerate to get the desired effect. You need to have an intimate knowledge of the real thing to be able to better distort and stylize according to your intent. If you don't and you go pel mel into it it's gonna look like complete ass because you don't know what the hell you are doing. Learning and implementing the fundamentals will only make you a better artist, period.
