No. You aren't allowed to heavily reference someone else's art (paintings, photos, movie stills, etc), not give credit to the original artist, and try to sell that same work. It's extremely derivative and thus plagiarism.

As long as you aren't blatantly ripping off other people's work, or you have the rights to do so, then you'll be fine. If you do a study off somebody else's work, then say so and don't go around trying to sell copies of it.

Well I can't condone that. But that should really be what people are focusing on. Not just the fact that he's bothering to use reference or redraw things. That's literally a part of a learning process. And that still doesn't address his patreon which is about his OC endeavors and really has nothing do with with selling his studies to people.

I already said I don't condone him selling prints. People should be focusing on him selling prints of redraws.

As far as his patreon, it's literally a non issue because it's not about his studies, it's about his planned original content. That and people sign up of their own free will. It's basically a donate button activated monthly.

I have a strong feeling this was all done by this Ghio guy. All the reposting. He's behind it all. His Facebook plugs. sakimichan popping up. I'd never heard of this guy and I must say, his art is really good, but this feels all too much like jealousy. What this kron guy is doing is total shit. It's theft. I wasn't convinced until I saw some of the links. I get it. But going around and making a spectacle of this shit is LOW. This Ghio guy is already successful. Why so jelly? Why ruin someone?
