I spent most of the day trying to make this work. The animation itself wasn't hard. But trying to make the effects work through various experiments was a huge pain in the ass. surely you'll animate the head as well? The hair, maybe add blinking in the run-cycle, things like that.

Also the hands, you gotta fix the 'tweening on those, the shapes are inconsistent which makes them wobble. There's some wobblyness in the shoes as well but the hands are definitely the biggest problem.

Your first exercise is animating a bouncing ball.

I'd really like something with a bit more advanced than that, taking the time to learn a program is nothing scary to me. I just wanna check it out, and if i find it cool, i'll do the basics like guy walking, bouncing ball, sack falling to the floor, guy lifting weights, guy pulling something heavy and so on.

That was the plan. I feel pretty comfortable using C#. Physics for the engine is mostly done. Once the core mechanic is fleshed out, it'll be smooth sailing. Of course I could always use help, but I'd hate to ask for that when im still in such an early phase

I know that this is probably because you have really good time, and are unsure about your own skill. But please, knock off all the measurements. It's nice if you want to have robotic and consistent form, but that should come by itself, as long as you have your anatomy down. Doing things as thoroughly as this is not really an option if you ever were to pursue this as a profession.

It also has some downsides. Your animation will become very limited and "realistic", but not in a good sense. It won't look to real, because of the strict measurements. Having constricted forms like that will also make fast and flashy movements seem really dull, and the animation will be dull to look at. But it's not like I'm saying that you should stop doing it. If you want to animate mecha, I think doing stuff like that is great.

yeah use reference or act it out yourself.

You just kinda approached the movement with the thought process of "in an uppercut you punch upwards" and you just kinda did that, but that's not really how an uppercut works.

there's the stance, right? That ain't a fighting stance. there's twisting of the torso in the movement as well. you gotta take all things into consideration.

It is literally 35 frames for these 5 Seconds. So yea like the other anon says. Slow. For many many hours depending on how detailed you want it to look. Animation is suffering.

Damn, how long did this take you ?
Must be over 1000 frames.
Did you ever color this in ?
Did you lose your sanity ?

Nice find, it looks like they're talking about sakuga and giving advice. I would be forever grateful if an anon could translate a few of these, or at least give us a summary of what they're saying. Google translate is retarded with Japanese.

Not erotic at all. And even if it's finished you will always notice that these are just figueres with clothings. Must be hard to be a porn artist when you can't fap to your work.

What do you guys think of this youtube animator?

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbrJOQ6Yw2HQTChPQZCPfAw

I think his stuff is really cute and funny. He's been posting videos regularly for a couple of years and is still really unknown.

Also I'm not this guy, I've been subbed to him for months and it breaks my heart that all his work goes unnoticed.

You have to have a real specific taste to enjoy this content in the slightest

It's kind of neat in a quirky way(yeah yeah 'lel so quirky xd hipsters lel, I know.).

But all of his videos are drawn in a super simplistic way, there's minimal animation and his videos are 20 seconds long. There's not a lot of work going to waste here.
