Can someone tell me how to make a brush in Paint Tool SAI that works this way?

Those colors...they are just beautiful to me. I tried some "watercolor"-brushes but it doesnt nearly look like this. That yellow and orange seem to be in totally harmony.

Also: Any way to copy that style of black pen like in this picture? It looks so dirty to me. Im totally new to digital drawing.

Maybe more like this?

Try to modify the Watercolor brush, it should do the trick.

also, if you sharpen it in photoshop, you can see more more detail/ see edges better.

>the grain

Does Sai let you choose a canvas texture when you create the file? (like in ArtRage)

If that option doesn't exist, just scan a real paper with the desired grain and use it as your Background layer.

Actually pretty good. Any tips for the black outlines that look so "dirty"?

I really love those outlines and way to draw. That style remembers me of comic from my childhood. Just beautiful

Just carefully use eraser on edges, i have it bound to a side button on stylus.
Unless you meant color edges which is just Fringe enabled on the top left.

Lol just go buy some india ink and a shitty water color set, some water color paper too. Its probably impossible to get that effect on a program, because this was done traditionally.
You'll probably learn how to use them better and faster if you go the traditional route.
