Make a personal project and make works towards that. This will give your studies purpose as your stuff has to fit into a narrative.

This might be a comic or just simply drawing out all the heartbeats of a story.

Try looking up Ian Mcaigs dvds on storytelling (that he did for gnomon I believe).

Do something similar. You became an artist because you wanted to paint out your ideas, but here you're sitting on your ass going "wa wa no inspiration" bullshit! Just start small and watch your stuff evolve. Ideas beckon more ideas.

A lot of people here want to become concept artists but they never paint a personal perspective. Though when you listen to pros it's 100% their personal work (never their professional work) that gets them the new jobs with the higher rates.

You grew up in a setting that was mundane to you, but have you thought about how exciting that normality is to other people around the globe? Paint stuff from a personal perspective and stay true to your vision, people respond to that kind of stuff.
We're living in a time where it's never been easier to learn the language of pictures. But what are you going to say with it is up to you. Fumble and make grammatical errors to your hearts content, if the words expressed are sincere people will overlook the mistakes.

That doesn't exclude you from not having to evaluate everything. Ruthlessly. Give yourself challenges that will move you far beyond your comfort zone take on things that your unfamiliar with. Then you will have to learn new things to cope!

Doing studies without any fumbling is like learning sin/cos in math without ever having to use it in practice, it's quite easy to forget right? And you dreaded it in high school. Well don't make your study habits homework, make it interesting to yourself and it'll eventually be interesting to others.

And lastly, network like crazy. Go to workshops and meet your heroes you'll see that they are a lot more human than you'd expect!
