I've been drawing the shit since 2000, and there's nothing really wrong with it. The primary reason I stuck with it is because I enjoy creating characters and telling a story.
However, I would strongly suggest you stay away from the most mainstream forms of the style, and try to add more detail and realism to your style, and work a lot on gestures that convey personality. If you look at any acclaimed manga artist, you'll notice this is what sets them apart.
