Felix Pedro spent years searching for gold. He tried to find gold in the creeks and valleys of the Tanana Valley where Fairbanks would begin before he found the "American Klondike". A trader named E.T. Barnette and his wife, Isabelle, were aboard the riverboat Lavelle Young in August 1901, trying to establish a trading post in the Tanana River. Low water conditions stopped the journey before Barnette could reach his destination. Co-owner of the Lavelle Young, Captain Charles Adams, turned into the Chena River, a tributary of the Tanana, instead. Shallow water stopped the Lavelle Young, and Adams refused to go further, so the Barnettes set up shop there.[1]

Previously, the band tour the United States and Europe playing at state fairs and music festivals with a few headlining concerts thrown in. The tour became a major success with critics and spectators alike, selling out many dates within the United States. After the release of their second studio album, the band toured alongside Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Enrique Iglesias for the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball concert series.[1] Gomez remarked her excitement for the tour and stated that it provided motivation to plan a "big" tour for 2011.[2] During a backstage interview, Gomez remarked that she was conceptualizing the tour as far as stage and production and promised an amazing show with an "epic" stage for 2011.[3] The tour was officially announced on the band's official website in September 2010 to begin in London. The band played their first dates in South America before heading to the United States to perform in festivals.

I would put a little money on them having messed with the saturation and contrast.
Which might intensify the color of the Atmospheric perspective.
However it does look like a high humidity area so there might be some early morning fog in the air?

The Škoda A7 was a 37 mm tank gun designed by the Skoda Works in Czechoslovakia prior to World War II.

The gun was the primary armament of the Czech TNH-PS light tank design, known in service with Germany as the Panzer 38(t).

The primary user of the A7 was the German Army during World War II where the weapon went by the name 3.7 cm Kampfwagenkanone 38(t).

In German service, in addition to conventional high explosive ammunition, the weapon fired two anti-tank rounds. The primary round was the Panzergranate 39 armor-piercing composite ballistic cap (APCBC) which could penetrate 41 mm of armor plate at 100 m and 35 mm at 500 m. Penetration dropped to 29 mm at 1000 m and 24 mm at 1500 m. The APCBC round was ineffective at 2000 m. The rarer tungsten Panzergranate 40 armor-piercing composite rigid (APCR) round could penetrate 64 mm at 100 m, but only 34 mm at 500 m. The APCR round was not effective at 1000 m or beyond.

It is atmospheric perspective, but the reason it's like that is because a very long lens was used. Long lenses tend to make space seem compressed, so the distance covered there is actually far greater than it appears.

There are 40 slots left until image cap then.
Something for you guy to fill to keep the thread around for a while.

This does indeed conclude the show for tonight.
I avoided nudes of men / women as those ref threads seem rather common here.
Have fun studying!

Can someone explain to me how you guys work with these? Like, you paint of them trying to replicate them, but also studying them, right? Do you pull the colors from the image, or try to learn it and choose it yourself?

i dont usually color pick because in a way its very similar to tracing

like it will help you make a picture more similar to the ref but youre going to learn a lot more and train your eye better if you figure out the colors on your own

And you paint over the picture, or in a new file?

no i just have it up on the screen while im painting (this is why having two monitors can be helpful though i dont do this) usually at a small scale and then i zoom in on different areas when im working on details

but i dont think it would be a problem to paint over the reference if youre very skilled at drawing and convinced you could copy the photo exactly (once again professionals could probably do this but i sure as fuck cant)
otherwise copying over the basic shapes and proportions of the reference is just as important as learning to paint/render them
