biggest problem atm is the face and helmet seem out of perspective creating a weird skew. most likely from all the photobashing you do.

i don't have a problem with the black and the awkward marks and weird overlay patterns gives it a long "style" but i think adding different hues of greys on parts would make it more interesting.

it's complicated imagine every brush is like an airbrush that releases pigmet in the chosen brush-tip-shape over time. spacing controls the amount of "releases" over a set distance. what flow does is apply a radial-gradiant mask to every single release of pigment.

The forms on the mask don't read well from all the blacks - especially around the cheeks.

I personally hate how the eyes were handled. All of the edges are too crisp, and the eyelashes are too dark and uniform - they look like eye-liner.

It's rendered well, the pose is solid. Nitpicking it to death over trivial things isn't going to help any one. The idea is lame, it's boring. It's a generic all black scfi dude, they're a dime a dozen. That's a critique, being grandiose and drawing interesting shapes for designs is a noble cause.


Man Moebius is the bomb but he aint my mecca. I design stuff from old military fashion or I look at shapes around me, like stop lights and head phones or air duster cans.

Man look, commercial design which you see mostly in present day movies and in comics suck hard. They're tame and boring. Even if they did, thematically you're in the same place. Military fashion+sci fi was a go-to for moebius, where do you think he got those trademark boots and hats from?

You have an eye for aesthetics, which will take you a long way, why aren't you trying to improve your foundation? thats going to open up more options for you that aren't stylistic choices.
