Clip Studio Paint released an iOS app, it's free for the first 6 months. Go give it a shot

I don't have any Apple devices so I can't tell you how good it is, but it seems like most people are pleased with it so far.

"App looks like it has full desktop functionality and will even download your materials from the cloud if you have a Clip Studio account. Everything looks great so far!

Only issue I’m having is that it won’t let me open a PSD file from Dropbox. It seems to only want to open images from the photo library, which is a problem because I can’t put my PSDs there (they get converted to PNG). I don’t mind saving everything to your cloud service instead of Dropbox, but I really need to be able to bring my existing files into the app!

EDIT: It’s possible to open PSD files with the share menu from another app — e.g. go to ProCreate, hit “share” and do the “open in” thing. There’s a “copy to CSP” icon that WILL transfer the PSD with layers to the app.

It would also be nice if I could export PSD files with layers, because I work with other people who need to access the file that way.

As a side note: I replaced my laptop with an iPad and I had been missing this app so much. It’s fantastic for making comics! I will happily pay for the subscription. Thank you so much for bringing CSP to the iPad!"

So, I've been trying it out and it's pretty much the whole of the desktop version! Someone said they were able to sync, but I'm not sure it will sync your workspace, settings and brushes. Maybe it'll have to be manually. Also pressure seems to start harder than on my wacom, but you can regulate the pressure curve, so it's all good.

i got it last night for my iPad Pro.

after using Clip Studio for the last few years I can tell you that it's a little clunky without keyboard shortcuts, but it's a really really solid port.

I will be buying it when my free sub runs out.

Shortcuts work with Smart keyboard! It's like you're on desktop. I even found a setting that resets the workspace to the desktop one. I hope it'll work with bluetooth keyboard, because I so miss the Esc key! But it should, for 10 bucks a month. I think this 6 months period is an open beta test until they fix everything that may come up.

The iPad Pro is quite powerful. Procreate handles 9000x7000 at 600 dpi with no noticeable lag. But that app is optimized for the device. We'll see about Clip Studio.

Quickie study 95% done on the iOS version (used the desktop for more precise final touchups + color correction [I forgot to turn off my auto-color temperature for nighttime setting]). Pretty happy with CSP for painting, whereas Procreate's painting just feels... funky? Sort of prefer how sketching on Procreate feels, though.

Waiting on a matte screen protector + cheap Bluetooth keyboard to see if I find a more textural surface akin to my my Huion and shortcuts make it even closer to the desktop version.

Also, is anyone running into weird DPI issues? I have to look at 300 DPI files at 200% on iOS to view them at the same size at 100% on the desktop version. I played with that DPI resolution thing so they're identical across platforms, and nothing really changes.
