Wacom Cintiq pro

>General guidelines when picking a tablet:
- All of the recommended models are part of large lines with multiple sizes/generations available. Buy the biggest/newest in your budget. Medium-Large pen tablets or 16-24" display tablets are considered the sweet spot by most artists.
- If you don't see a tablet you're interested in listed, ask about it. This isn't a definitive list, just one to give you an idea where to start looking.
- Wacom is still the industry standard, but they're overpriced and a lot of pros and studios are switching. Chinese brands have caught up in the past few years and will provide a near identical user experience for a fraction of the price.

I'm not a 3rd worlder so I don't care. Just pirate their shit or stay on 1._ forever, not like there are any significant changes on the current version anyway.
Software has almost always required buying newer versions in the past. I don't remember anyone bitching when cs2/cs3/cs4/cs5/cs6 were released and required their own license, or when manga studio became csp. But for some reason it's a problem now?

Its possible to use it in a pinch but something the size of an Ipad is still preferable. Yeah, its reasonably feature complete app. Although I did not use it extensively, because I couldn't get used to some of its gestures, I prefer one finger pan and on-screen tools of the clipstudio. Although from my experience, if you are using one of the alternative emr pens, it feels like there might be gaps in pressure sensitivity coverage. Its possible to fix it through pressure curves, but I haven't found a solution to it yet. The build in pen doesn't have this issue however its uncomfortable and it smells like burning plastic because of the build in charging coils. The pro-pen has similar issues but I don't know if S23 or later have remedy this problem.

Both brad colbow and teoh on tech mention that the cursor is misaligned slightly unless you hold the pen near vertically.
My assumption is that the pen is using a point further down the nib as its center point, so if you have the pen angled, it detects it slightly down the shaft from where the tip of your nib is.
That and the CPU brand it uses (some cheaper chinkshit instead of snapdragon that samsung uses) are the only complaints I've seen.
I'm waiting to get one to find out if they address the calibration issue, or if it's fixable by just using a different pen or something, and also to see if the cpu brand they chose has longevity problems.

Bottom row. You have to upgrade from 1-2 then 2-3.
If you could go straight to V3 there wouldn't be a need for that connecting line. And on the upgrade page on their website the options are the same, V1-V2 or V2-V3. If you want just V3 you have to get a new license, but then you can't the upgrade discount despite already having the OG CSP.

you don't have to do that you fucking moron. You can buy a standalone license for 3.0 with no prior licenses. you just can't get a discounted upgrade from 1>3 directly. There's absolutely no logical reason to do that anyway, seeing as how buying a perpetual license for 3.0 costs less, and would let you have 2 licenses if you ever wanted CSP on another device.

Upgrading is cheaper than buying a new license though, and you could use 1 license for two devices already, so buying another one shouldn't be necessary, it also still has the problem of buying ANOTHER brand new license after V3, then you'd have three new licenses for like, 6 different computers. Why would I buy a product that I wasn't intending on using? That's just a complete waste of time and money. You'll notice the decrease in size. I also changed from a 21.5" tablet. Remember the pro 19 is actually 18.4". I'd probably go for the pro 24, although I've never tried it so take that as you will. It's still like that. I consider wacom is its own "alternative" brand because they're built tougher than woodpecker lips and it warrants a decent resale price. I want to try scanning pencil sketches for coloring and to copy said sketches for variations/further drawing. I would like to occasionally print out colored works on (up to) A4 paper, maybe even try to make a zine.
Cheap - at least when it comes to ink, albeit I did notice the basic ink tank printers are just cheap printers with ciss system (and possibly with some bullshit to make stuff expensive again), so I might be willing to pay a bit more for better print quality.

tl:dr an all-rounder where potential zines/comics turn out decent for reasonable ink price.

consumer grade printers are all pretty shit desu, especially if you need a printer/scanner combined and need it on a budget. Oh. I see
I have to admit I did order a printer already because I was getting impatient (wanted to get it before weekend), but I possibly made a mistake (I bought HP Photosmart 5520 due to cheap cartridges and because my family used to have a similar model). I feel like an idiot.
I did hear that HP's ink tank printers have cheap replacement parts, tho.
Anyway, I'm prolly still an idiot, the ecotank isn't that much expensive considering the savings on ink(if I were to mass print stuff, of course).

>your best bet for quality prints will always be to get it done professionally at a print shop though.
It might sound autistic, but I'm not quite keen of anyone learning of my identity.

the printer you got will probably be fine. I just know the ecotank is a popular line that has good quality.
>You mentioned combined machines being especially bad. How would it work if I were to buy separate printer and scanner?
A machine trying to do everything generally won't be as good as a machine purpose built to do just one thing. I'm not sure what you mean by how it would work.
They sell printers that only print and have no scanning capability like the canon pro 300, and scanners that only scan with no printer attached, like the epson v600. neither of which are budget friendly, but they are specifically good for art printing/scanning.

I just felt buyer's remorse as I could just double for ecotank, but dunno if I will end up doing that much work with it, so worst case scenario I will offload the Photosmart on some relative.

Alright, installed the Photosmart. Took me a few attempts to figure out how to double print - it seems I might need a dedicated program to easily set up pictures for mass printing. Probably there is a freeware thing.
Didn't try the highest quality setting(ran out of paper), but the standard seems okay(but with visibly higher saturation than on computer), besides the occasional pinkish hue on the print, quite worrying.
Scanner scans as scanner should, I think.

Our older printer apparently managed to print even despite longer breaks, so I'm quite optimistic.

If you want true portability as in "I do not have access to a flat surface" your best option is a lapdesk + a stand for the 2-in-1. If you do have access to a flat surface, just get a stand.

But what I'd really recommend is getting an actual, proper laptop. There's no point in using a 2-in-1 if you're going to gimp yourself with all that extra bulk. Even a cheap used laptop will be better than what you're currently doing simply because it'll have a fixed hinge. I know from personal experience that SAI will run perfectly fine on toasters so specs shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, absolutely positive.
Budget wacom stuff is not good at all. It's on par with or in a lot of cases even worse than budget chinkshit, just at an inflated price point because of the brand name.
For example, $50 will get you either:

2048 levels of pressure sensitivity with a 3.7x6 drawing area
or
>deco 01 v2
8192 levels of pressure sensitivity with a 10x6.25" drawing area.

For the love of fuck I can't get my XP pen drawing monitor to only display the same shit as my main monitor. I literally had it working not too long ago, but some fucking update or something fucked it up. I can get it to work just fine when connecting to my laptop, but I want to use my PC.
The settings don't do shit and the XP pen display always functions as a separate monitor and it's becoming a real pain in the ass.
No matter how much I try to reword my Google search, all the results are people who WANT to use this feature, and nobody trying to disable it.
>everything I click on this options menu keeps the tablet displaying this second monitor
>click the dropdown to select different monitors
>set full screen
>customize screen area
No combination of any of these settings changes literally anything.
Also as an aside, my computer keeps fucking changing where it saves my screenshots and now it's saving them to some retarded "gamer" folder or something. God in fucking heaven fuck Windows and their dumb fucking updates.

That's not handled by your tablet software. Change it in the OS. If you have Windows go to display settings -> change 'extend these displays' to 'duplicate'
