I struggle really hard with facial construction. I haven't found a method I like. I think someone posted something last thread as a recommendation.

I'm kind of better at drawing slightly more realistic or masculine style faces but I drop my spaghetti at anime girls. Biggest problem like I said, the jaw and chin. I figured that a Loomis style method would yield me a more realistic style head which is not what I want to go for stylistically.

i remmeber having that problem too as a beg, the theory is that you need to modify the meme ball with the anime landmarks, and that's it but nope, the problem is that drawing the ball and the landmarks correctly is almost impossible at best you will be 85% accurate so following the landmarks without devitaion will end in a shitty face, the loomis method or any other method is just meant to be to used a guide not something to rely 100% on it.
what worked for me and a every other non beg artist is to learn the fucking thing you are drawing instead of relaying on landmarks and methods, in your case study the planes/forms of the face, you can use landmarks but never be bound to them.
ie:
the 3DPD waifu's head its obviusly different from the anime proportions, and both of the anime heads dont have the same proportions.
using the loomis method will just give you the loomis head, but it's the idea on how it works what you need to learn so jut modify the meme ball with anime proportions, but you need to know the fucking anime proportions first, and that's hard because a lot of the anime out there is heavily stylized, so get a fuck tons of refs and try mapping the face and take notes of the landmarks you want to keep.
Next is use your new anime head construction, i will strongly recomend to go from very basic shapes/forms before going for really detailed stuff, the eyes for example, as you can see they are pretty basic you can add more details as you get more confident and then make your own stylization.

The second part is about the jaw, the jaw is not really that complex, it's like a horse shoe at the bottom but most anime faces aren't like that, in this case im using that Marine reference, the basic shape is like a shovel but you nedd to be able to see it's whole form at any angle, in your drawings the forms of the cheekbone, nose bridge forehead are almost not existent, even if you get the jaw right it will still look like crap.

I did the opposite and switched from NSFW to SFW. I lost about 15 people that draw here on 4chan. Now I'm around 350. I figured that people don't deserve free porn and should support me the artist. Today I continued my practice of drawing without sketching. This time I used a brush like Gi.
It was both fun and frustrating. I completely lost my direction, messed up the proportion and did a lot of symbol drawing.
Still, I learned a lot from my mistakes, realized that if I already have experience on drawing each part it will be much easier. I probably will redo this.

Not him but the R18 discord servers sorta suck, as a NSFW artist i generally dislike all the smut that i see, hence why i'm drawing it myself, there might be some artworks that i like but the people who draw them are not nice or entertaining, or that they don't draw anime and don't retweet other R18 artists. These are just my general experiences, i always ask for feedback and never get the attention from the R18 crowd.

I don't know. I can't get myself to do just that. It's not that I disagree, I'd really like to because there's lots of benefits to it.
I mean it would get me a lot more internet points which could benefit my endeavour. I don't give a fuck about internet points, recognition and/or fame.

I find it quite difficult to do lineart. Linearting is pretty straight-forward in a sense, but not for me.
I also find digital very frustrating to work with half the time but this is also probably due to incompetence.
The piece in pic related is traditional.
I think that traditional can offer good results for me, but it's really a 50/50 for me between trad and digital if I get frustrated with one I can switch.

I also bought a large proper Wacom Cintiq, it's a nice change of pace I guess but I don't see myself creating attractive works on it just yet.

Full-animation for sure is harder on traditional for me. Usually I scan the drawings and lineart digitally and then animate from there.

Be more rigorous during that second pass.
Practice using as less strokes as possible, and make it a mindful decision. If you have to draw a line between a point A and a point B, don't stop halfway through and pick it up again for no reason. Every line counts.
In a similar vein, don't stack strokes. There are way too many things happening around your character's right hand and it's hard to read.

depends on what you are drawing fanart of, popual stuff gets you likes and views pretty easy but you need to be consistent for a few weeks then people will retweet your stuff more often and you will get more exposition which will make more people to see your stuff and the cycle continues.
I have less than 40 drawings total in 8 months and probably less than 15 are fll painted

For you see, I've been having a battle with my followers. I only grow when I personally reach out and ask people for a retweet. I won't shame anybody for doing that. I just think it's frustrating. I'm even followed by a few successful and talented artists. But they ignore my posts and still see me as a beginner I guess. I've improved immensely but my reach is greatly limited by fellow artists observing. I straight up started asking my public followers what should I draw for a retweet. And they reply that "it has to meet their personal taste". Then why do they follow me? That means I'm going to have to draw scat. Long story short. I started torturing my followers. I've cut off ties to find my galleries. Purposely redirect good art that people wanted somewhere else like pornhub. Draw safe for work. Reduce image quality. And force followers to join my patreon.

I figured out why the Japanese can draw so well. It's their writing system; ours is really blocky; theirs is nice and curvy. I'm learning Hiragana and Japanese right now, and since I'm a neet, I have enough time to learn drawing and Japanese at the same time. I'm convinced that if I learn Japanese, I can draw better. NTA but I've tried using my own boobs as reference but it's hard to get the camera angles I want. I'd probably have to get someone else to take pictures of me in all the suggestive poses I want but I'm way to shy to do that. Plus my boobs are F cups so they're extra difficult to draw and get the shape right. Smaller boobs are easier to draw because there's less dimension to them. I don't know if using my own body as a reference is worth it for patreon cooner bucks.

I'll take a ten minute break and I want to tell you about my experience.
It's been a year since I started drawing (11 months to be exact)
And notice a big improvement when you stop copying already made images.
If you want to draw an anime manga style you must choose the anime or manga from which you will base all your studies. You cannot, for example, copy Horikoshi (mha) and then copy Kubo (bleach)
Both have a particular style and priorities when drawing, so first of all you should investigate what you like to draw and from there look for the mangaka or artist that is closest.
I chose Horikoshi in terms of anatomy and priorities.
And I will look for some other mangaka for the color and in that way create my own style
I just took this way of studying at the beginning of the year so that's why it still looks a little bad.
But now I see a goal and a clear path.
I wish you good luck in this anon and my best advice is to look for art streamers on Twitch, really socializing and talking to people or asking for advice is a very important mental and emotional outlet

I'ts a pretty nice drawing, the only complaint I have with it is that the eyes are not even in size and also that some parts of the hair don't have a solid consistency.
My suggestion would be to first draw up a rough sketch with basic 3D shapes thinking about the perspective. Then divide the hair into three parts: front, side and back. Next, draw the clothes over the body to keep the figure in place.
I'm not an experienced artist, so if you want to wait for another anon to give you critique, that's fine.
