You should first learn lighting in order to train rendering. The lighting on your pic makes no sense, backs looks like it's in the bright light, but the ass is in total shadow. With your lighting only the very bottom of the ass should be darker and shadow should be very soft. There wouldn't even be any terminator lines visible to the viewer with this perspective and light this bright.
Here is a good video explaining lighting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vapw6n6FyU

No, if you don't have a passion to draw things outside a strictly delineated curriculum you'll never make it. Learning to draw is at least 60% work you do on your own and any education is supplementing your progress. People in drawing classes will never make it if they're not curious to figure out how to draw things outside class time and instruction just curious self-taught people will be able to make it with limited teaching material.

Funny, I got crit'd yesterday for putting white spots on a pair of tits. Several anons pointed it out too and I was going crazy looking through countless anime refs trying to figure out why I even applied it (because all those references had silky smooth tits). Wasn't until today when I looked at 3D models on Smutbase and real porn that I realized tits actually do have it, they're the skin pores reflecting in the light, it's just most styles seem to get rid of it or combine it into one big blob of white.

yes, doing that would improve your portraits very quickly since the main problem of those faces are poorly distributed values. I kinda like how you draw faces btw

with charcoal you just press lightly and cover up whole shapes with uniform greys, forces you to think bigger. You can still shade with like a 5B pencil if you really have trouble with that specific charcoal
for the color picking thing, everything that helps you understand a drawing is allowed in a study, including tracing (done well) and color picking

Based. It all looks decent. It’s probably not super important, but I recommend you watch how Peter Han and/or Charles Hu do the line exercises. It looks like you’re going too fast, and it looks like you’re not paying attention. I don’t say this because they’re frayed or fuzzy, but because I can see where you’re not starting the lines at the exact same point each time. You’re supposed to retrace over the exact same path as the first line, and you’re not starting it at the same point. The start is the easy part, so I think you’re just not being deliberate enough there.

I'm beg but from what I can tell
- You're not going dark enough in places (the ear, the middle of the torso)
- You're not following the shadow shapes super closely (center chest, left arm, bottom of torso etc)
- Your brush is pretty smudgy, assuming you're trying to recreate the texture but maybe try laying in with a more "basic" brush and then adding texture? again im not a good painter

This is really cute, I like it a lot.
Maybe make particularly dark/light areas more extreme.
Also, since you don't use the same background, the lower right of the bunny's body is a bit aimless because on your reference it's lighter because of reflected light from the bright yellow blanket.

Serious question: How do I stop autistically looking for the perfect construction method? I never draw myself, I just do studies/copies/gesture drawings.

I forgot why I even started drawing. I think because I wanted to draw cute anime girls and epic manga panels like in berserk. I don't want to quit drawing but I want to find my purpose and meaning again, and actually do something that is fun, but I feel like I can never really being to create my own artwork because I feel an autistic need to be good enough first.

Please help a howie

Probably both. I do 5x5 lifts so 30 minutes only gives me about one or two lift before I need to head back home. Plus I have an hour commute from home to the gym. For drawing, sure 30 minutes is enough time to “just draw” but it isn’t enough for figure studies, drawabox, and “just draw”ing. I think the composition is solid but the execution could be better. It's hard to see the farther hand to know what it's up to. Not necessarily. Knowing when to use hard shadows and when to use soft shadows is an important skill, and it CAN be hampered if you only ever airbrush shadows. That's just step one.
Betty's book has examples of people going from your level to realistic human faces in like a month or two.
If you want gains you're gonna have to treat it like a 9-5 job though.

You really just need to stay true to your vanishing point. Perspective's not very hard, you're just not at the level to eyeball it so whip out those guidelines.

I've been nothing down what works, what doesn't, and what has to be tested and from all the "works" entries I really don't like one which is
>use a reference
All of the other entries can be internalized and made automatic making me an inherently more capable and skilled artist but this one is just a crutch but it seems like a crutch impossible to vault over

Longer lines look better, the longer the better
But for details you need to zoom in, the line is shorter
How do you mantain a good rhythm for a line while drawing it "in parts" by zooming in?
Obviously having a bigger screen/tablet/canvas helps, but there's only so much you can upgrade your supplies.
Perhaps a second display showing you the macro view? But even then your lines is still not "truly" continuous (not made with a single stroke
What's the solution

I sparred today after a 4 month injury, went back home with my shirt sprinkled with my own blood and a very swollen nose but I am very happy to be back at the ring.
Lately I have been feeling pretty sad about this whole drawing thing but realizing that I am more scared of my drawing tablet than of some light heavyweight trying to break my face.
With this small hope I did my daily doodle.

The raised thigh came out greatly misshapen and the arm is just "lol". At least I could paste a somewhat passable face this time.
Still flat and shit and grotesque as ever, though.

Man, just buy a paper and a pencil or/and save money for a good tablet. Cheap bad tablets will give you nothing, but disdain for drawing. I mean if you are already good, you can manage, but if you are an absolute beginner, either invest into stuff that won't hinder your growth on every turn or just use a pencil. If you are a poorfag, get good with a pencil and then when you have some skills to transfer, get used to cheap tablet.
