I feel extremely lonely and alone. When I am on 4chan, discord, or in real life. I feel isolated as if there aren't any real people in this world. I feel I am isolated, alone in a world of NPC. 99% of your relationships will always be superficial at best

over the 27~ years I've been alive I've only had 5 or so close friends in total, and these days I only talk to two of them, the others moved on

don't get me wrong, there's a lot of friendly people out there with whom you can have a good time, but they'll never fill the void you're speaking of

it'll take a lot of work to find them, the only advice I can give you is not to give up on that search

I am probably on the autistic spectrum. Hypercompetitive, hyperactive, and hyper-aggressive. I am not from a good neighborhood or school. You can get punched for nothing. And if you offend the wrong person you can get knifed. The only thing that kept me sane was drawing shit doodles.

>>7054685
I got friends but I don't think they like me. I'm not a likable person. I will retreat when I am not welcomed, I will leave quietly, easy come easy go. I don't mind being alone or lonely. However, I am self-conscious enough to know that is not right. I did try my best to be likeable but I think I am doing it wrong. Because the more I try will lead me to get into trouble or get banned. Finding someone I can trust, and someone that like me just to hang out with. That's harder than most people think. It is my fault, so 2024 will be the year I try to become a successful artist and someone who can be loved. Honestly, I rather have a few good friends and one best friend, hopefully, my girlfriend, wife, and lover. I'm old, too old, I don't know if I have any more time. I can only do my best. So much NPC tho... God damn.

Furry character designs made from templates that you can buy from an artist. Pretty sure they're for artistically inept furries who want to have a fursona or ocs but don't actually know how to draw or design well, or just because furries are autistic about community and creative integrity which makes exploiting their willingness to pay for a mass produced palette swap of a gay lion with bird feathers easy.

While I really want to like ASP more as it feels more in line with how my desktop workflow goes with Krita, I'm constantly annoyed that the brushes feel worse than Procreate somehow despite me liking everything else more. For some reason the brushes don't taper off in ASP like in Procreate and I'm desperate to know why, are there any solutions to this?
I adjusted my pen sens to be the same in both apps so can't be that. I'm also more focused on clean linework so the painting functions aren't so important to me, and I find all the stuff hidden behind gestures in Procreate kinda annoying.

yeah is called use your brain, you need to actually need to use your brain actively to draw, yeah.
I know it sounds insulting but is true that a lot of people think that drawing or nay art related thing is just doing the thing and blabla, so yeah is you are not thinking of course you can't visualize anything. If you come with the excuse that you can't think on things on your brain because you have whatever syndrome or disease you should just quit. Imagine things doing things in your brain is the most basic cognitive work you can do, so yeah, use your brain.

>>7055945
they should use different engines and shit for their brushes, nothing to do. The common thing is trying to understand most of each engine option and try to replicate the first in the second. Yes, doing that can be kid of boring and all that, but is somehting you must learn eventually, the brush shapes, opacity options, if they work with graphic curves or numbers, pressure, flow, texture options, all that. Krita specially has a lot of options to set up but in most of the brushes they are not all enable, so look what are the ones in your brushes, and try to replicate that, you will not get the exact same feeling, but you can get close at least.

>should I pirate or buy CSP for the tab s6 lite?
It's important to consider the ethical implications of using pirated software, as well as the legal risks associated with it. Pirating software, including Clip Studio Paint (CSP), can lead to legal consequences and potential harm to your device due to malware or other security issues.

Instead of resorting to piracy, it's recommended to purchase the software legally. This ensures that you support the developers who create the software and helps fund the continued development and improvement of the product. Legal purchases also typically come with customer support and updates, which can be crucial for a piece of software like CSP that may require regular maintenance and upgrades.

Additionally, buying the software legally allows you to access any available discounts or promotions, and it can sometimes be cheaper than the cost of piracy, considering the potential risks and damage to your device.

In conclusion, it is advisable to purchase Clip Studio Paint for the Tab S6 Lite instead of resorting to piracy to ensure that you stay within the bounds of the law, protect your device, and support the developers who create the software you love.gspmgvytr0

Should i ignore my followers and fans? when they keep sending me messages that they like my artwork?
If they like the artwork why don't they just send it in the comments below the image. i don't want to do small talk with 8 different people all the time in the messages. they probably don't even follow me.
I'm a failed nsfw artist btw so i usually get 1 retweet by my patron. and 17 bookmarks. then i have other artist watching me probably trying to steal my ideas. because they said in the comments that they won't retweet my nsfw because it has to align up to their specific taste. so i started ignoring almost everybody that doesn't retweet my art, except for the patrons.

i would have shared more by this person but they deleted the messages after they realized that i ignored them for a month. just them saying how "oh i like this work in progress it's really hot. blah blah blah.
and it's funny seeing artists being passive aggressive forcing me to draw more or i should post more. but I'm not going to do it unless it guarantees me money, I'm not your traditional artist. i used to be into game programming before this.

Absolutely not, some things simply don’t need as much care or attention as, say, the focal point or center of art in your painting.

Any tips on how I can color my work traditionally, but ink digitally?
Like, can I print my lines onto watercolor paper?

I remember seeing a mangaka on ManBen do something like that. He'd print out his digital inks, lightbox it and lay WC paper over it (how does the light go through the WC paper??), then do his ink wash for the gray tones.
He'd then scan it up and lay it over the digital inks again.

I can only give good advice specific to the Krita brush engine, but the effect here comes mostly from having a good blending between the texture and the brush tip. Play around with the settings until it looks like the texture is cutting into the edges of the brushstroke, rather than the circular brush tip being the first thing you notice.

You can try to find premade tiling textures (most of the good ones are paywalled), or make your own from a photo by touching up the edges with the clone brush (https://www.rendernode.com/creating-seamless-tileable-textures-in-photoshop/).). There's probably a plugin that can do it automatically. Also, you can rip the textures from Procreate bundles by extracting them like a zip file. The brush settings won't transfer, but the brush tips and textures can be reused to make your own.

Here's my attempt at recreating the watercolor brush in the first pic. I started with a circle brush tip with a slight fade at the edges. I set the paintng mode to "wash", meaning that color will not build up if you go over the same area within the same brushstroke. I set the opacity to stay steady at 100% at high and mid pressure, only dropping down at very low pressure. I want an even tone most of the time, except when I want to deliberately fade by using featherweight pressure. I set the size to be larger at very light pressure, and put a slight scatter effect on it to mimic the paint blooming as in wet-on-wet technique. So, it is hard-edged at moderate pressure, but turns super soft at light pressure. Then, I applied the texture. I set it to "subtract" mode, taking away most of the brush color so the brush becomes a transparent wash when used. I used David Revoy's watercolor texture #4 (it is not seamless by default). Finally, I set the brush blending mode to "multiply" for that nice color effect.

Will follow up with a shot at the ink brush.

The furthest back building is off, you can see that the roof has the same perspective as the roof of the building closest to the viewer, which doesn't make sense because of how much taller it is. It also seems to be floating on air, which is less of a failure of perspective and more of a failure of making the tree line flat where it meets the building. You cope by learning your lesson and never doing that again.
Never do "payment on delivery." That's a scammers favorite thing to hear, because it means "I'm not confident in my work so I'll give it to you for free, and you can just run away and not pay for if you want to."

The lowest I'll ever go is 50% up front, 50% after sending a low-res sample. Then after the final payment, they get the full artwork. You NEVER send the full resolution artwork before the final payment.
And in the case of intentionally low res art (pixel art, icons, stuff that can not be low res sampled), I always require 100% up front.
Also, write a contract so you get all of this in writing. Unless the commission is less than $100 or less than 1 hour's work, then it might not be worth the time to write up a custom contract. But even then, you should still have some sort of "default agreement" that the client abides to that is attached to the invoice in some way.

I'm sorry anon. It sucks that this happened. And it sucks that we have to do all this, but it's exactly because there are assholes out there who suck like that.

Wanna make a 2d game, using Photoshop for the sketches, Illustrator for linework and Unreal as engine.
What is a good pipeline to turn Illustrator linework and colouring into dynamic assets? E.g. drawing three sets of hats and change them. Currently I need one asset for line art, one for the base colour and one for the shaded base colour which I wanna colourize with an RGB blueprint colouring thingy.
But this just seems really inefficient since this system may force me to hide some assets.
Also, I aim for picrel as artstyle for starters. Are there any tutorials/guides on how to achieve that look with vector graphics?

>> No.7068645

No problem. Find an "art contract" template and make your guidelines from there.
The important things to know are "force majure clause" which is basically "what happens if an major accident keeps me from completing the work, like injury, war, etc."
Other than that the 50/50 payment rule of thumb will get you far.
Also, set aside like 25% or more of your income for taxes. If you're doing commissions, you have to figure that out and pay it manually.
If you're only doing one or two commissions here and there it won't matter much, but it starts to add up when You're taking in thousands of dollars in income.

Is it sustainable to be a socially isolated artist? What I mean is, I have social media, but I don't interact with people. I draw nsfw, I've got a bunch of followers and am making decent money, but I spend a lot of time listening to youtube tutorials, streamers etc and they all talk about how important it is to have friends and a community otherwise you "won't survive" the loneliness. "Friends are important" they say. I've never had any friends irl or online (34 now) and I can't stand interacting with people. I don't want to cultivate relationships or form connections. I feel like I'm being scare mongered into joining communities and connecting with people I don't care about? Any other artists who don't interact with anybody? I feel fine now, but so many of these people say it's 100% essential to have friends and connections otherwise it's impossible to survive in art.

I do know Medibang has ties with Shueisha so I want to inform myself a little better before doing it.

I've noticed that the quality bar for MangaPlus Creators is way above webtoon's though, even in the bottom of the barrel tier.

Also, is it specifically Shonen?
It never specifies to be entirely Shonen Jump so I just assumed it to be all Shueisha, but I've haven't found anything from Ultra Jump! (Seinen) Or Cookie (Josei).

Oh yeah, the UI is awful. But I've used it so much by now that it feels natural to get around the program. You can enable dark theme by (rather confusingly) going to *two* different sections in the options. Colours -> darkmode, and Style -> QT stylesheet = your choice. You can also change from the retro Vista style elements to a (slightly) more modern Qt style in Style -> Qt style = Fusion.

Sadly there is not a lot of tag based file organization software out there. Even fewer that are FOSS. You could try something like LibrePhotos or Piwigo if you care to install it on a local web server.

Yeah. Open up WSJ or your favorite Marvel book or whatever you’re into. Ask yourself if your art could be side by side on the same page, without looking out of place. If the answer is yes then you’re good enough. If the answer is no then you’re not.
It’s actually a really easy question to answer. The only hard part is being honest with yourself.

But then you have other people who have scribbly pieces of shit with 1000 lines and it looks great.

sketchy lines can look good when you know how to make a picture look good. most of the time sketchy lines come from being timid and pecking the page not sure where to the line should go. didn't watch the vid but my advice is to try ghost your line sometime, practice a full stroke just hovering above the page before committing it. You can also use pen instead of pencil, no erasing, no light sketching, just forces you to control your lines more, builds that skill up.

Confident Lines mostly matters if your goal is to produce illustrations (think like clip art, manga, cartoons, anything with distinct clean black out lines).
People who paint tend to use the sketchy method of lots of tiny strokes (think like background art, or Bob Ross paintings).
Knowing how to do confident strokes is always a plus, whether you use them or not. Because a true master of their craft will know when to employ that technique and when to use another technique. And if you never learn Confident Lines then you limit your ability of what you can produce.

Sometimes people conflate expressive stylistic lines with chicken scratch. Not everyone wants single smooth line art. But it is likely desired in some areas, often specifically faces and hands, and is an important skill to have. Expressive lines should be confident all the same.

>Career
You might want to think about alternative skills for the long run. There will always be art jobs but not nearly as many as before. I'm guessing it will be at least another 10 years before the creative industries that most people wanna do art for like videogames, movies, animation etc get completely taken over by ai shit. But if you're smart enough you'll find a way to make money in art. Just probably not doing storyboards or commissions. But who knows.
>Hobby
You're a stupid fucking retarded mongoloid if you stop making art as a hobby or for fun just because pajeet and some sillicon valley faggots made a couple of computers that can paint. It would be like refusing to get fit and workout because there are machines that can pick up heavier things than you.
Stop thinking about anime babes or cool shonen protags for a second. And think about what art is really about, self expression and nobody can take that away from you.

So because it was ruled that a comic using AI art isn't copyrightable does that mean that one of the few way artists are going to be able to make a living is with comics/manga?

Is making my own comic and/or manga the only way for me to make a living as an artist? Working for a big corporation seems like it being be a thing, but my own indie projects that I actually own? It seems with the way copyright works this is the only path.

Looking for copic resources and art. I know there's some decent touhou illustration books on e-hentai but was looking for more professional ilustration examples as well.

struggling to do hard edges on fabric and not sure if it's just me being new to the medium or if it's a difficult effect to achieve even for experienced artists.
