Once you make an account, you can see what people submit under the "Browse" tab. Personally, I just work on studies, but a lot of people submit finished works. Worth noting, you can submit WIPs and still have it count towards your streak (Useful when you're taking on a larger project).

Also worth noting: If you feel like once-a-day is a little too ambitious for you atm, you can change your frequency to once every couple of days or once a week! There are a lot of dials to help you get drawing :)

Visible without needing to be checked first. Once a submission is approved it'll be visible (and that's all that approving does btw).
It's this way so people who are banned can't just rejoin and spam the site with cp or something.
But yeah the whole point is building a habit of drawing for at least 30min each day. If you don't have the time even for that then DAD is not for you.

I would suspect that most artists have more of a feminine temperment. I'm a dude, but I admit that I have a noticeably strong inclination towards gossip, though in my defense I hardly feed into that here (and try to do it minimally in general). I feel this, brotha. I used to do figure studies like my life depended on it. I got really good at studying, but I lost the ability to create my own art. I feel so lost nowadays. I really don't think drawing daily is the problem. I drew daily on DAD for a year (300+ streak) and then took a year off where I was still drawing occasionally but not daily. I didn't get much better using DAD, and I certainly didn't get any better without it. I'm at a comfortable level with my art and draw mostly for fun/as a hobby. With or without DAD, I haven't been getting better because I'm not pushing myself.

There's nothing wrong with the former either but doing it daily makes it more likely for you to stagnate for longer. Seriously though, if you're coming back after such long hiatus, you should worry more about making your art enjoyable to you and building that habit of drawing again, rather than on "regaining skills". Your biggest issue is quantity of art you make, not the quality.

It's like with lifting. Some people worry so much about finding the perfect, scientifically proven exercise routine and with perfecting their form, that they're too busy to go the gym regularly. Meanwhile some random halfwit will make twice as many gains by just picking up random heavy stones.

looking at your submission, you're going bit by bit, trying to "trace" the original image, which is a difficult approach and it probably won't help you really grasp how to paint
when you're painting, you have to take a look at the whole image and figure out the values and colors used ... it's a really difficult set of skills to master, but I don't think you'll get far just trying to emulate HOW this guy applies color without understanding the WHY
if you're serious about this, start by doing value studies and only focus on getting the values and shapes right - nothing else
then you might proceed to do the same in color, trying to get the temperatures right on top of having a good value structure
