I've been drawing for 15 years and I use my art skill to great effect when generating art, I make a quick doodle then img2img it to see how it would look finished, I take the best gen, upscale it and manually add the final details, make corrections, add extra effects in PS and that's that, what would have taken me days before now takes an hour at best and I have all the fun of drawing without any of the frustration.

I'm going to be 100% unironic about this, but the amount of sexual harassment and rape I have seen in art school and ateliers is astounding. "b-but wome-" I've met both female and male victims. Hell, I've met three different dudes who never met each other tell me they have been harassed by a famous (male) atelier owner in my city.

It is incredible the insane number of victims an excellent artist can make and still be protected by his/her community.

I took a real two-year hiatus from art after a real proved by police and ended in conviction/imprisonment case that happened close to me.

I love art and find real joy in it, but the chance that someone who got good at it is a freak is HIGH.

I got pretty okay at drawing, but what's the point. It would take me a few more years to get REALLY good at drawing, and just imagine what AI generators can do then...
After messing around with SD1.5 and SDXL for a bit, I can 100% with full certainty say that AI art is the future.
If models nowadays are already as sophisticated as they are, I simply don't see a future where human art has a place in the commercial art world.
Ofcourse people will still draw for fun, but I'm not one of those people. To me, art was always just a means to an end. I want to create my own series, my own comics, my own animations.
Now that AI basically allows anyone to do that with absolutely 0 skill required, I simply don't see the point anymore to learn how to draw.
Soon even animation will be AI generated.
Everyone will be able to make episodes of anime with a few words and the click of a button.

The rambling story that encompasses 180+ strips was never meant to be "product",because I had launched a different story and I gearing up for a weekly update to generate steady traffic. But...I got a girlfriend, and stupid white knight that I am,I was forced to give gentlemanly support to her in various waiting rooms. So I brought a new sketchbook, drew a random demon head,then decided to explain its existence. And suddenly the story galloped away. So these were posted instead,whatever I thought up half asleep and composed then and there. I acknowledge its flaws as a Product, and would not charge money for them as is,but as a whole.

What would DreamWorks make of this? These are notes for a Director, to realize it as a scene in the Show,whatever form it takes. I was fascinated by the story,and hinted at dark mysteries and over years saw them realized. A participant more than its creator,I was more concerned about putting enough Stuff in each episode, and I had 3 storylines going simultaneously with different characters doing their part in the drama,introducing some that I drew as a kid,but with revised back stories. It had pain,comedy,revelation and raw emotions on display. I want to continue it someday,but now I have very limited time to draw. But also consider that I started this in 2011,and smart phones were still science fiction, and my target market was someone who will see the website full screen,making the flaws more forgivable.

This is what I am doing now,another spur of the moment strip,but I am time lapse videoing myself drawing it. The world will see the story unfold before their eyes.

Actually quite some early photographers got inspiration from famous paintings and used the new tool to replicate settings, scenes and mood
But they learned quickly to go far beyond this and soon painters started to replicate photographs. So now for a while many painters are copyists.

it's a mood board i made for helping me flesh out a library setting for a personal project. literally every gen i made for it is laid out here in consecutive order as i made and changed them.
and they actually helped me a lot in imagining the setting. i decided on some crucial details while being inspired by these.
