Unironically "make" your own clay. It`s literally dirt. Is there any river near you? Check YT tutorials on how to proceed.

I hate that people like you actually try to give advice.

do not fucking make your own clay, it will be absolute shit to work with and will likely frustrate you to the point of giving up on the medium entirely. there's a reason you don't see professional sculptors gathering slop down by the river.

nta but depends on who you are, if you're the kind of person who is self sufficient and patient the information is out there, you can learn to do pretty much anything on your own in this day and age. We have information that makes the library of Alexandria look like a pamphlet

yes, if you really wanted to, you could go make your own serviceable clay. but at that point your hobby will become clay making rather than sculpting clay.
Just because something is possible to do, doesn't mean it makes sense to actually do it. you can get 5lbs of monster clay for like $30 and have perfectly formulated clay to work with.

do you also suggest mining your own graphite instead of just buying a pencil?

model magic is okay, but absolute shit for detailed work or subtractive sculpting. it's not meant to be a serious sculpting clay, its for kids to make dinosaurs and soft fluffy shit. real modelling clay isn't expensive. I only mentioned monster clay because it's really fucking good, but you can get basic shit for like 50 cents a pound

>> No.7008613

i love modal magic it can be use a for cosplaying a a cheap way for foam clay and even for other thing like horror mask or like a and Halloween decorations if you want to make skin clay texture details
