- to do one project/illustration per week
- never study in the void (like I used to in 2023), it has to be related to the project I'm working on
- limit mindless doodling
- developing my workflow and sticking with it
- follow my warm-up routine religiously like i did in 2023 (2m gestures, post it heads shapes exercises, photo and color studies) for a max of 2h per morning

I've been on this board on and off for a long time, and when I first found it I was already well into adulthood. I'm getting old, man.

I started the Tower Girls thread, I created anti-art school infographics, I've done a whole lot of autistic shit and have just been quietly entrenched in this community for as long as I can remember-but the fact is I never made it, myself, on my own terms or by my own standards.

I spent the past year and a half doing a lot of figure drawing, up until that point it was just anatomy studies and stuff like that, aimlessly for years on end. Starting, stopping and starting over-often from near 0-over and over again. This year I need to keep the progress and consistency going, I need to commit to hard perspective both for inorganic subjects and the figure, and finally work towards my true goal of animation. It was a very long time coming but I think I'm nearly ready. There's just so much to do and learn, but that's one of the things that makes art so appealing.

While I'm not the host of the Drawpile itself (that duty has changed hands multiple times), I'm the OP, founder (at least on 4chan; RIP Harb) and retainer of the Drawpile thread going back several years (here's what remains of the archived Drawpile canvas files: https://mega.nz/folder/hbAURDBB#htWRoOsPOG30XnMmKV_zNA).). I consider having helped bring so many disparate and powerful artists into one place a great privilege, and to see the Tower Girls thread still going after so many years since I'd left and continuing to inspire art is an honor.

This board isn't all bad now and never really was, but it's very important you try and limit the attention you give bait and gossip threads because the mods-if there ever were any-aren't going to do it for you. Try and use it for its intended purpose. Be generous with your own knowledge as you accrue it, with resources or inspirational material you've discovered, and hope others will reply in kind. That's when /ic/ is at its best.

Dude, let me tell you something.

First of all, I think I know who you are and what you have drawn by the previous drawings from the other drawpile threads and brother, let me tell you something: HOLY FUCKING SHIT YOUR DRAWINGS ARE AMAZING. I can't believe how good you are, man! The way you draw, your different styles and shapes you use (which is something I love because a lot of artists don't do this and end up suffering from same face/body syndrome) to draw anything from different angles are ridiculously extraordinary, I mean, I know art is subjective thus everyone has its own meaning about it but for me, good art is when the artist not only draws something appealing but also when that same artist is capable to convey a feeling through a piece of work, something so good that will hook ya for a long time. Now, that's when you know you have found the good stuff! Just like "Ivan the Terrible and his Son Ivan" makes me feel (which is by far one of my favorite paintings), so does your art, dude.

I mean, I have come across with a lot of artists from this shithole and only a few of them are worth checking out BUT off the top of my head, besides three-angle-blue, (you) have been truly inspiring for me even though I have only discovered your work a couple weeks ago. Which makes me wonder and fucking hate at the same time the fact that you say:
>>6998647
> I never made it, myself, on my own terms or by my own standards
Dude, what in the actual fuck? how come, a magnificent bastard like you, a true artist and for me the Da Vinci from this shithole, say such thing and what do you mean by that? what the hell happened?

Nevertheless, I'm glad that you are still studying and progressing in your art but please be careful and don't overwork, take it easy and for the love of God PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP and keep sharing your great work because I'm pretty sure a lot of people (including myself ofc) are eager to see what will you be drawing next, dude.

Btw, it seems like not only you have a lot of experience drawing but you have also been here for a long time (whilst I have been here only for a couple years, lurking mostly) which makes me wonder even more things (if you don't mind answering) like why did you start drawing and for how long have you been doing it? when did you start browsing in 4chinz? And do you have any tips you would like to share for a newbie like me besides just drawing and studying books?
Thanks for sharing it, man, that actually comes in handy because that is what I have been doing these days; taking previous drawpile canvases and studying and drawing the different artstyles from other anons. I like it because I can study a lot of styles and stuff from just one pic.
>I consider having helped bring so many disparate and powerful artists into one place a great privilege, and to see the Tower Girls thread still going after so many years since I'd left and continuing to inspire art is an honor
Not only that but I'm also glad that you're still taking your time to keep active other stuff like the drawpile threads to inspire other anons like myself, once again thanks for that, dude.
>That's when /ic/ is at its best
Honestly, I barely come in here (like 3 or 4 times a week) because I mostly spend my time offline doing other stuff or hobbies or simply drawing but also I mostly lurk because I barely socialize. It is also kinda difficult to build and keep friendships for me because of that same reason. Not to mention that I don't even post my work on social media (for now) or in here because I don't consider it to be worth posting since I'm basically a low tier beg. In short: Nothing interesting nor mindblowing to post so why even bother.

Also, forgot to ask but could you please post your social media? And please let us know once you have published your first animation, man.

I really appreciate the support. Actually the only picture in that screenshot I'm responsible for is the goat with the hair, the other pictures are from others.

Many incredible artists have become regular contributors to the drawpile in past years. Bear, Kusu, Nug, Road, Fumi, Stussy, KO-and more recently Alt, Veells, Hpargonohp, Yerbamane, mmm, Da Joy, Mahrie, Hip and many others I'm forgetting who nonetheless deserve a lot of respect on their name. It's a lot of pressure trying to keep up, but I'm as determined as ever to find my niche.

Having so many great people in my circle is much more valuable to me than having even tens of thousands likes on Twitter or whatever. Still, I have a lot of blind spots to develop in my work and going forward I'm confident this is going to be a big year for me, and I hope it is for you as well. Let's make it happen.

''what the hell am i doing here''
''i dont belong here'' and i see someone grasping for control in a hard plastic rubber like

stabbing the poor fella, of course i was jacking
off but my boner faded, unlike other times i half remember fadedly a dream of the nma founder joshua jacobo callin me bitch-made or tuff nigger'? as i considered cancelling my nma subscription (i did for a while)
i didnt needed to jack off anymore after that

Clout or friendships? Idk, I don't even know what's happiness at this point after all the bad stuff that have had happened to me recently but yeah, what you said is true:

I just want to get better. I've been saying it for a while now but I'm actually putting my nose to the grindstone. Mixing books/lessons with what I want to draw and I'm slowly seeing some progress. >Do you happen to know the name of him or the artist who created him?

Initially I created him as a joke character in one of the first iterations of the Tower Girls thread I'd made over 10 years ago. "Natti Backsnapicus". He changed quite a bit as time went on of course, now he doesn't really have a name or a specific purpose but has become sort of my mascot/self-insert character; I'm really happy a lot of people seem to enjoy drawing him as well.

>Clout or friendships?
"Likes" and such should rightly feel good, but at the end of the day they're an impersonal bing-bing wahoo number that shouldn't be taken too seriously-or too personally-if you aren't getting many. There are artists you wouldn't believe who either get low engagement or have essentially no social media at all and it'd be my hope that in the former's case they don't let that discourage them.

>"blind spots to develop"
Ope, I misspoke a bit there, obviously I have enough blind spots and don't want to develop any more! Rather I still have quite a few that need to be ironed out.

>Thank you, have a good day and a happy new year, man.

I bought a WACOM ONE. Turns out that Digital Drawing and the Traditional Drawing are TWO COMPLETELY different executions. I'm using Krita so for new year's resolution:
>Learn how to use the tablet
>Learn the program
>Achieve the same level I have on paper on the digital
>Then follow one of those one year projects for drawing
So far it's being miserable. Right now I'm just drawing circles, squares, lines and tracing simple draws to train the grip on the pen. But I'm hopeful.
