How long ago was this? I've found that, as the Internet has gotten bigger and more mainstream, I (and others I've discussed this with) have become more self conscious about posting weird stuff. It feels easier to be put on blast for it thanks to giant social media monoliths like Twitter, even if you try to keep it contained within a small community. It could also just be that drawing weird, fun doodles was what got you interested in art but now you're intuitively seeking more.
