I have literally never been able to come up with an original story/world for myself. Everything I've ever made has been a fanfiction based on another property. Even when I was a kid, I could never come up with creative ideas.
Even when I was really inspired? Nothing came to me. Even when I took walks and tried exercising, nothing. Am I just fucked or what? Because my only actually good characters or really anything original came from the most sheer luck.

You watch movies, read books, read comics, listen to music and steal things.

Think about things you like and steal them. Think about what you don't like too and think about how to make it better.

Relate things back to your own life experience.

Observe other people and how they behave, interact with others.

Think about something amusing or interesting that could happen in a situation.

Learn to be yourself.

What are you letting I to your mind? Original ideas are novel combinations of things that came before. Attack on Titan, what if gundams were flesh and Hitler? Dragon ball, what if wukong was an alien?

ATTENTION ALL ANONS.
YOU HAVE ACCIDENTALLY FALLEN FOR HOWIE SCHIZO'S TRAP. THIS SEVERELY MENTALLY ILL ANON DOES NOT DRAW, NOR DOES HE HAVE ANY INTENTION OF DRAWING. NO MATTER HOW MUCH ADVICE OR TIPS OR CRITICISM YOU GIVE HIM, HE WILL NEVER PICK UP A PENCIL. HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR MONTHS, GARNERING HUNDREDS OF POSTS IN HIS COPY AND PASTE THREADS, AND NOT ONCE HAS HE EVER ACTUALLY DRAWN, ONLY POSTING THE SAME SHITTY SCRIBBLES HE MADE A YEAR AGO.

Some telltale signs you are interacting with him:

>Is taking every medication under the sun
>Says he wants to draw but has no interest in drawing a single thing, he is a paradox
>Gave up every guide he tried on page one, refuses to continue
>Will disregard every single piece of advice you give, has endless excuses
>"I'm autistic, with adhd"
>"I get bored and looking at my phone or staring at a wall"
>"I can't/don't know how to (most basic thing)"
>"Then I might as well not be interested in anything because I can't do anything" <--He uses this one when someone calls him out

What Anon-kun is saying is true. Watch many movies, documentaries, read manga, and play video games. At some point, something will click, and you'll think, "I want to create something like this." The more references you have from things you enjoy, better stories and characters you'll be able to create.

>> No.6975544

1. You need to study script structure, I recommend the book Saving the Cat.
2. Next you need to learn the Japanese script structure (research on Youtube or Google).
3.To understand all the information personally, take out and divide the structure of your favorite animes so that you can have a better understanding.
4. Now you must explore your creative side and create a story that you want to tell with the structure and stereotypes of a Japanese character. If you can't think of anything right now it's because you don't have anything, the stories of good scriptwriters are born from real life experiences, so go out and Live your life and maybe in a few years you will come across that story.

Note: How helpful can I tell you that one of the most important elements in Japanese manga or anime lies in the premise.

I heard that a composer has saved the melodies that they came up with, and when making a song they simply try with what they have. And the artists have a notebook where they make a lot of sketches where they mix things, an example would be ''lolita'' and ''gothic'', and what you can see comes out.
If you do something similar it might help you.
Also, although unrelated to writing, taking up photography could also help, just as taking up gardening can help you take a good photo.

Maybe you want immediate creativity? wanting to think about something and have that something just come to your head

I don't know, from what I see you can only get something creative by mixing things xd
or try to think of something based on something else (something badass = a priest exorcising demons, or the doom slayer)
Just do what seems fun to you, if you have empty ideas you're just going to throw them away.

something fun... cats are pretty, plants are green (?), I would say that something like a cat by itself is a little boring... Maybe a cat that wanders through the forest, and attracts people to it and then eat them (?)

I think something like ''immediate creativity'' is a bit complicated xd
Because it's hard to think of fun things, nothing comes to mind.
It would be nice to have something where you write or draw whatever comes to mind and keep what's fun to yourself.

I hope it helps you, I don't know, I'm an idiot, I'm leaving asdasfefdfad xd

Non-ironic advice,
Give up.
You don't actually want to make art. You're convincing yourself you do because you have nothing else in your life either, and pretending you want to draw (you don't want to) distracts from everything else. Focus on your actual issues, which clearly have nothing to do with drawing.
Art IS expression. If you have nothing to express, it isn't for you and you're lying to yourself about wanting to make it. You're wasting your time and your life. If you wanted to do it you already would do it. You might as well be staring at food without eating it and telling yourself you're hungry. If you were hungry to begin with you would eat it already.

Then I am saying that. You are literally not interested in anything artistic. That's fine. You don't have to do something creative to have value in your life. Even if you have something to express inside you, it's locked behind your emptiness and depression. Swallow your shame and self-pity and go to a therapist at that point. Your problem ruins deeper than any hobby or interest can help. Don't put the cart before the horse. If you don't right your mind fundamentally of course creativity will be lost to you.

All you do every day is jerk off, stay alone in your room and sleep, and I'm making assumptions by saying your life is empty and depressed? You're lying to yourself because you're afraid to actually look at your real self.
>I WANT to be creative.
You're lying. Being creative is DOING creativity. Liking the idea of something is not the same as actually wanting to do something. Talking about wanting to be a bodybuilder but not wanting to lift weights is retarded. Because being one IS lifting weights, inseparably. If you don't want to lift weights, you don't actually want to be a bodybuilder, you merely like the IDEA of it.

Just the same, actually BEING an artist IS creating art. Being is a verb, a state of action, not just an idea about a hypothetical self. There is no such thing as wanting to be an artist but not wanting to do art. Because being an artist IS making art. Actual being IS doing. Talking about wanting "to be" something when you don't actually want to do the thing is nonsense. You're using an idea about a hypothetical self that does something valuable or desirable to regulate yourself through fantasies about a future self who is that way. That's why you have tried being a gamemaker, an animator, an artist, all this different shit. Because you don't want to look at your own actual self right here right now, look at your own suffering, and deal with it. Incidentally, I have ADHD too, diagnosed in childhood even. Remember, just because you don't want to hear it doesn't make it untrue. If after 12 years you get nowhere with hobbies as a coping mechanism, it's time for you to work on the actual problem, which is yourself, your own mind at this exact moment. Good luck.

Well, it would be great to lock yourself up and study day and night, and get lost that way and improve, I guess that's what you want?

With that will? You can't even stand the paperwork and want something that's even more full of it? You have to find ways to do things and do them, and be patient...

''I want to be creative''
Buy a sketchbook and start drawing anything that makes you feel something, mix them, improve them or twist them, and if you want, color them
''I want to study''
Grab books (mostly without anything relevant) and look for something useful, understand how this and that works, memorize formulas and words, look for practices, even the same ones you had already done and do them all the time. (most of the time you will spend reading non-essential things)
''i want to draw''
Look for tutorials that are probably shit, and try each thing for days, think about how things work, understand the composition of something, do that several times

If you can't stand that paperwork or you don't like it, then there's nothing you can do, take a course or something li0dmr8ke any normal person.

WARNING: THIS POSTER IS AN EMOTIONAL VAMPIRE WHO WILL DEFLECT ALL ADVICE YOU GIVE AND FEAST ON YOUR PSYCHIC ENERGY BY DRAGGING YOU INTO POINTLESS CONVERSATIONS. HE HAS MADE THIS EXACT SAME THREAD COUNTLESS TIMES.

Example of his past exchanges:
>>6836401
>Yes. Your drawings are careless and rushed.
>6836406
>How?
>>6836436
>Google "How to Draw Freehand Straight Lines"
>6836516
>I'm drawing with my shoulders and elbows. This is the best I can do.
>>6836619
>Then you're resistant to advice that already helped hundreds of thousands artists world wide aka retarded.
>6836623
>What other "advice" is there? I Googled exactly what was asked and that's what came up.
>>6836630
>Sigh. No anon. You don't skip and jump from one technique to another until it works. You pick one and grind it until it clicks.
>6836634
>What other techniques are there? You haven't told me a single one. The arm and elbow is literally what every fucking piece of advice tells me to do.

Every reply by this mental case is designed to foist the burden of improving onto the other person. Note how he always vacillates between begging for advice, then finding a way to disregard advice.
Whenever you give him advice, he will whine about how he can't do it.
If you follow up, explaining how to do it, or challenging him, he will whine about how the explanation doesn't work for him. He will continue asking for explanations of more and more basic things beyond the point of absurdity.
He will insist he wants to do something, then turn around and claim he doesn't know what he wants to do.
He will never post examples of his attempts, or post ones done with minimum effort or months ago.
He will try to bait you into meta-discussion about why he sucks.
When you eventually give up, he will start whining again that there is no good advice.

STOP giving him attention. He is mentally ill and has remade this same thread over and over, because HE IS NOT LOOKING FOR ADVICE. HE WANTS YOU TO ENGAGE IN HIS PITY PARTY.

Shit happens to me all the time. I make something, and about a year later a movie comes out with a similar plot. there is nothing new. What you can do is read a lot and watch a lot to get ideas as well as learn to write descriptively to paint with new descritpions.
For something more soulfull, try to dig deep down onto a topic you feel strongly about. create a thesis and antithesis to describe the conflicting emotions. Get metaphoricle.

for example. FlCl is a coming of age story. there are a myriad of those stories, but its told with motifs and metaphors. Canti playing with the bass guitar to describe how he takes a back seat in life. The baseball espisode was a metaphor for sex. The old "first base dating, second holding hands, third kissing and home run for sex" motif.

get ambiguous with the common themes in literature and youll make something out of it.

Then draw random things. People,places,objects.

Then...think about them.

Why did you make them as you did? What details crept into their forms, and what do they suggest to you? It's the reasoning that will make the world your creations inhabit. For instance, I drew the demon head initially, and thought what role it would play in ficdom I illustrate. It turned into a "scene from an adventure in progress",something that I like to do for teaching myself to stuff them with small details that hint at the bigger picture of what such an adventure would entail. Then a second page expanding these ideas happened, then a third. And after 180 strips over a decade, that storyline is 2/3 told. And so it happens.

Nta, but let's be completely honest here. You are never going to draw on your own, you have zero accountability. And pixels on a screen are never going to convince you to pick up a pencil. At this rate you are well on your way to fulfilling your ultimatum by the end of the year. So unless you don't want to kill yourself, hire a real life drawing coach or take a physical drawing class. Hire someone to surgically connect a pen to your hand and a sketchbook to your thigh if you have to. Either way, you NEED someone to PHYSICALLY be there forcing you to draw, because there is no chance in hell you will ever be able to do it on your own. Good luck or good riddance.

Smart people adore complex ideas expressed in a simple way. Only idiots and midwits think hard to understand = smart.

I have 117 IQ my best friend has 127, other two friends have 125, 130, and 135. All of them like those kind of books I listed.
Literally the only people who like other kinds are midwits on lit/ impressed by needlessly complicated windbag writing. God damn I hate that place. Snooty bastards can't allow the mention anyone but literally who authors they only talk about so they can fight over who can be the most smug for reading the most boring unknown author.

The anime version of that is people who think Death Note is genius writing because it's convoluted. Instead of just convoluted writing to hide the fact they can't write smart characters.

Well fuck you should have mentioned that you dork. You need a yeast detox with oregano oil, antioxidants rich rose hips for brain clarity boost, cilantro for heavy metal detox, and a higher protein diet with high quality fish oil like the one fit/ recommends for more mental clarity. A study found school children in a African village where meat was rare had amazing test scores when their school lunch had a meat broth.

Start taking oregano oil and cilantro extract 3x a day with a high probiotics rich foods and cut out all sugar and carbs to kill any yeast overgrowth that is known to cause foggy thinking. It takes a month but you'll feel so amazing. The crisp clarity will feel alien and weird after a lifetime in fog.
https://www.yeastinfection.org/

I started taking vitamins afterwards to balance my health further and came up with 5 book ideas in one day.
A multivitamin, green tea extract, fish oil, rose hips, high potassium swiss chard since supplements for potassium over 5% DV are illegal, bone broth, and high protein diet, probiotics rich food. I don't know which did it or if all did it, but I feel amazing. The biggest energy and mental clarity came from rosehips and bone broth.

T. Health nut and suffered from brain fog for most of my life. Found out late in life it is a sign of high candida infection and other causes of brain fog.

What I do when I want to be creative is try to brainstorm. Due to the way modern media blasts and rots your brain, all your immediate ideas are bound to have no creativity. It's why so many franchises have gone to shit, because they have 0 creativity and just regurgitate what others already made popular. And this happens when you try and come up with shit on autopilot, which is why I usually discard the first idea that comes to mind, and the second, maybe even the third.

Like idk random example, let's say I want to create a world/story about a treasure hunter Indy-style, I've decided I want the protagonist to be female, ok let's try to come up with her looks. First idea that flows to mind is relatively fit, young in her 20s, brown hair, probably braided or ponytail so it doesn't get in the way when doing all the action shit. Boom, old idea, it's literally lara croft and probably many other generic action heroines, to the trash.
K next idea, how about I make her younger, midteens, maybe redhead instead of brown hair, confident, go-getter, and... yeah no fuck that it's literally horizon girl, or archer girl from brave, or pretty much any young spunky redhead heroine ever, to the trash. K what's the next idea? Ok let's keep her young-ish, maybe she just has shoulder-length hair, wears glasses, and is a super history nerd freak although her athleticism might not be the best... ok that seems at least a bit more out there? Yeah there's been a lot of geeky shy glassed characters, so might need to workshop that, but usually you don't see that kind of character in some kind of adventure story, closest that comes to mind would be Milo from Atlantis.

And so on, keep workshopping, keep working and tweaking, question everything. Like you can see in my last attempt at quickly brainstorming a character, my brain went on "autopilot" to make the generic nerdy girl character, I try to notice that happening to stop myself and change directions.
