I rarely see people worse than me in social media, and it's not because I'm bad or anything, it's just that the artist I follow don't share bad art and I don't look for it. If see one I scroll past it without thinking too much about it.

Todd Macfarlane always says that he found bad art the most inspirational because he knew he could do better than them and that's what gave him confidence and drove him on.

Delusional. Just try replicating whatever it is you're looking at. You don't have to do better, just try to m e e t the same level of skill. It will be an instant reality check that should ultimately help you grow as an artist.

If I want to feel good about myself I go on reddit, most of the "begs" on /ic/ are a lot better than me.
