So many of them are over-designed, color scheme and tones are off, and it doesn’t compliment the palette majority of the time. Why do some black anime fans do this? Do they honestly think this looks good? It’s like they try too hard to out-do the original but it ends up looking like jumbled garbage. I’ve only seen a few that have actually looked decent.

I don't care about the reason, but the FACT is that black skin has inherently poor readability for facial expressions and brown doesn't go well with most colors, so it's very hard to make it look good, what's to say about making it "better" than the original.

The hair can only be black, pink or white, anything else pops out in a bad way.
