Is picrel out ? It's a how to draw anime and manga taught by Japanese mangakas and animetors.

Are their video courses that goes over how to copy while being mindful of what you're copying? I can copy art pretty easily by mimicking the same line stroke angles and length, and noticing the relationship and differences between different lines. However I'm not sure how this helps me in the long run other than being able to copy what i see, which isnt the end goal if i want to draw my own work from imagination.

TLDR; I'd like some really good video courses or guides that cover how to copy and explains how it can help me long term. sorry for wall of text.

Nope:all your angles and shape proportions are wrong, let alone the awful quality of your lines. Which means your eyes aren't trained. Which is one of the many things you can gain from copying.

So i've been following the original posted video... i wanted to share my attempt before i go too far with this. the video suggests making 2d then perspective lines, and shows how the perspective is easy to find using the bike as a guide, but i used an example where theyre twisting their torsos... so the perspective lines i made seem more like guesses.

Before you know form you should know perspective, at least the basics and it's clear that you have a hard time with it. Take an online course about the basics of perspective and mess around with a 3D software till you understand how form in 2D actually works (Your brain hurt in such a simple exercise in your picrel so it's obvious that you still think in 2D)

And that's your (and a lot of other anons) problem not only with perspective but all other art fundamentals. You guys only know about it in theory, but this stuff is just a tool to emulate reality, and to help you draw it in practice/on the job.
I read a few books on perspective and I got a handle on its theory but I only really learned it for real when I started observing reality and thinking about how that theory apply to it + I used a bunch of 3d model software to pose characters in certain angles and distances THEN I put all that to practice and perspective (and by extension form) finally clicked to me.
That Krenz exercise you're doing is so logical, easy and mindless yet your brain is hurt by it so it's obvious that you need to truly understand perspective and how it applies to the real world before you break your subjects down into basic forms like Krenz did, no need for clues either.
