I don't think the model matters when you're studying, only good lighting and angles that will help you understand how to define the different body parts. And desu a lot of modern gravure is really lacking in the good lighting department. Although if you're looking to post your work/study online for critique choose models with good proportions/good poses or you'll get a lot of useless critique. Draw picrel for example and post for critique I bet you'll get critiqued for having poor anatomy/proportions.

These days you can find a CCD scanner but finding one with a FCCL light is expensive and hard to find, LED sucks because those tiny LED lights show in the scanners if the surface is reflective.
