you clearly lack the understanding of the basics of design and architecture.

Also try to read the four books of architecture of vitrivius and a grammar of ornamentation.
You will find some modern editions on sites like archive.org

This one was a temple I drew around end of june. Hopefully it scales down okay since the regular file is 9k pixels.

I've been grinding shitty heads and figure drawing the last couple of months and haven't been making a lot of progress nor enjoying it a ton. I think I gotta get back to my roots of environment drawings and paintings.

Yeah. I don't mean to post (you)s when I post around here, but I'll admit I barely ever do because very few people seem to care.
99% of people care more about characters than backgrounds or landscapes, but it is what it is.

Structural backgrounds are so much fun. I'm by no means the best painter but plotting perspective points while watching a documentary then watching it sorta look like what you pictured in your head once you paint it is so rewarding.

I'm really regretting doing nothing but shitty figure and head drawing for the last 8 weeks now.

Your work is super dope. Do you use 3d? I've used it a bit in the past but find my shit looks so stale when I paint over it. Almost like it lost its soul or something.

Your work at thumbnail view looks like 3d then when you look it shows draftsmanship that makes it look like it was handplotted.

No, i just draw a bunch of lines and vanishing points the good old way. I've tried using 3D too as a base but as you say it ends up looking a bit too stale and I even feel like it makes me take twice as long. Some times I make slight mistakes but IMO it adds a bit of sovl
