how would you guys feel about reorganizing the rentry so it has more categories/subcategories? not saying there needs to be another split like the one between regular and 3d, but maybe breaking it down between brushes for lining, painting, textures, hatching, sfx, etc so everything is not in one massive "brush" list. it is getting quite long, but i guess it doesn't matter if people can just ctrl+F for what they want. thoughts?

Would maybe get a bit too complex for anyone adding. I think for now the plan is the current major categories with part.1,2,3 etc if it does get too long.
I made the auto actions separate only for it being a fairly major distinction but anything else people could just search by id's or ask the threads for specific recommendations either free or paid on the rentry.

Overall my main goal is making it easy to add things to the rentry.

I got CSP and Procreate on iPad and I ask:

How do you find the right brushes for the job? I'm an advance beginner and I still feel like I'm not using the right sized canvas and brushes for sketches. Is there some tips on finding the right brush and canvas settings?

Honestly, I'm starting to think that screen display isnt for me and I prefer to use a standard drawing tablet for PC.

I just learn how to make my own brushes in a given program and do simple shapes and warm up lines to adjust pen pressure and brush settings till I feel I am getting what I want out of a brush.
I really suggest just not drawing so much as sitting up properly and drawing circles with varying pressure on your part and deeply considering what more you want from the brush.
I'm very picky personally and part of the reason I wind up downloading brushes is just to see what others are doing and implement into my own custom brushes but this works best if you have an idea of what you feel you are missing first.

Felt the same way until I stuck with a brushpack and messed with the pressure curve for Procreate until I liked it. Said brushpack is this >>6766158. As for how to mess with the pressure curve, pic related and the discussion about pen settings.
For CSP, getting your workspace in order so you have room to draw and cut down on menus that clutter might help with the friction.

personally i have yet to find a "pencil" in CSP that doesn't look and feel like shit

CSP is very complicated...I never had any lucky with that so I went back to PS, I believe it's because CSP doesn't use GPU or at least that's what I heard, so unless they fix that in a new update I don't know if anything will help

What sometimes would help me is changing the stroke, the bigger the better but that usually changes the brush quite a lot so it sucks, and also the anti-aliasing, I would put it at none, this would make my brushes lag less but it would still lag

Can I have some recommendations on brushes? Using clip studio and just got into digital from trad and I'm trying to figure what brushes are good for painting. For my lineart I use the basic g-pen brush but it doesn't feel quite the best and starts making lines that look like full condoms when I increase the size past a certain point
