I wanted to see your thoughts about it, many companies and developers on android and ios are using ai art now and as a guy who plays them I wondered what normal artists think of this change. The mobile game industry makes more money than the pc and console industry but a lot of the cash in concentrated in the top games.

A game that I play from time to time carx street (the first true open world racibg game on android and ios) has been using ai art in their game. No one really cares though. I don't think that an artist would be commisioned for hyper realistic art (it would have probably been photobashed and look even worse) and the studio behind the game is very small.

Most people will not notice at all or care if it is in a visual novel or just a loading screen background. So you will be pronably fine using it as your background.
Characters though, it is sorta easy to tell if it is from ai. Though some look just as good as normal art that doesn't have the ai sameyness like pic related. But most ai people don't fine tune their data sets to create anything really unique. Nor do they really know the fundamentals which makes their generated art dull in some ways. As more people get into ai art maybe we will see more high quality looking art, but I think most f these guys will just settle into medriocracy.

For me personally ai is very good at generating stories and prompts to refrence. Makes life a bit easier.

I started learning to draw in april, at first I was demoralized by AI art, but then I realized that drawing is fun in and of it'self, improving is fun, being able to draw literally everything you can imagine once you are good enough is such an amazing thought of mine that I keep grinding.

I tried out AI art extensively to see if I like it, and can truly create something creative and my judgement is: no but yes. You can't creatae 1:1 what you have in your brain. Maybe if you draw a sketch and then use controlnet, but even then it only works for simple poses and it needs alot of fixing.

Dynamic scenes where people are interacting and doing different scenes are entirely impossible to create with AI.


Human creativity and skill will never be replaced by AI. But these fucking moeblobs in what I feel is only 20 different poses Ex.

Can be replaced by AI art. Good thing I never wanted to draw that in the first place. People who specialized in that (See Pixiv ) are fucked in my opinion. Adapt and overcome.

I think it's fairly reasonable for it to be used in video games, given the amount of assets needed, and I'm sure many of those assets aren't things people are worried about the "artistic integrity" of (such as textures).

However, a game developer should be worried about people realising that major assets are AI generated (such as OP's picrel or >>6789279 ), because that just immediately makes the game appear low-quality and low effort.
