not bad, solid expression work and anatomy, but the actual facial similarities are off, the man in the picture has a much more drastic difference between the width of his upper face and lower jaw, and the lips are an iconic trait that you didnt deliver correctly
10/10 art, 2/10 for similiarity

its evident you followed the shapes rather than a preexisting workflow in places you were less confident with, but you nontheless didnt have the same kinda go at the face
work on it

while this art is a lot less anatomically correct or visually impressive, it perfectly delivers tone and works incredibly as a caricature
you can clearly see the most important visual aspects of the face youre drawing and are able to exxagerate them in a way that still looks familiar
unfortunately the work outside the face is very stiff and inbalanced
youre on the right track as a cartoonist

I've been drawing for years but I never took it seriously (I had no incentive + unsupportive parents). Now that I'm trying to take it seriously because I can, I feel pathetic that I never drew seriously.
I tried to draw the footballer as best as I can (for a casual drawing) but it turned out looking awful and not at all what I had visualized.

You can't become a pro artist over night anon. I know it's disheartening, but if you want to see improvement you'll have to keep trying and working hard.
An advice I can give you is to try drawing stuff you inherently enjoy, so that you don't lose your motivation over boring subjects and studying.
Try to have fun. If at the end of the day drawing turns out to be just a painful experience for you, then stop trying to become good at it at all costs.

I had this fear when I hung out with a friend who randomly came out as trans, he is a cool guy but not feminine looking. It wasn't until I had started drawing that I realized I had been drawing him masculine and whether he would sperg out or have his illusions shattered if I drew him semi realistically. You don't get upset at the camera for taking an accurate photo but I could get upset at an artist for presenting you as the opposite of what you identify as.. I tried to make the drawing more feminine half way through so I started to panic, he eventually liked the drawing but I had just never thought of this art problem before.
It would probably be the same if I was sketching a black dude like in >>6735005, if I draw him with total accuracy I would feel racist because he looks like a racist caricature.
