body proportions seem okay and the hair looks nice but the eyes are way too big, which causes them to get too close to each other in order to fit inside the face. there should never be less than one eye width between them or else you lose the neoteny
also, if you're going for soft lighting, you need to use more hard edges because the light and shadow values won't be too far away from each other. I suggest blocking in shadows first with a hard edged brush and only then softing them up with the airbrush

Up to this point I'd been doing kind of the opposite a la ctrl+paint, where I:
1. Place a gradient with the soft brush
2. Use a combination of a Gaussian round and hard smudge brush to refine the shape.

Except I mostly didn't draw lines or even define an overall silhouette at first. Oops. I also took a look at some of the artists I followed to check the eye sizes. While there were exceptions to the spacing guideline you described, they were also more simplified compared to what I'm attempting. As such I'll shrink them.

Hold on, this was just a progress report. I still gotta fix the shadow in several places, redo the nipple on the bottle, refine the shape on the left tail, and of course make a version replacing the bone with a dick. Then again, this was mostly to test out different technique (mission accomplished) and I got some other pieces that I put off to do this one, so I guess this one can go in the vault for now.
Any who, I'll keep you tips in mind but I'm not sure how well the second one would work for dark skin...

Coming from an outsider: I like it, generally. The colors are very nice. The biggest thing that bugs me is her right arm. It's almost out of the shoulder socket and at a weird angle. The hand, too, shouldn't face inward toward her front. It should face away from her- try sitting straight and putting your hand on your knee. It's most natural to keep it pointed away.

The only other thing I really see is that the shaded edges (toward the viewer) lack a little depth. I don't know how to add more depth, though. Make it darker on the edges? Her thight, for instance, doesn't look like she's really sitting on the branch. Darker there for sure.
Now that I look at it a little more closely, I feel like that line from her shoulder that overlaps her back/side makes the arm pop out too much. Maybe thinner line here or something?? Really don't know how to solve this one.

Hmm, and the left arm overlaps her front too much, though it doesn't look like she's huddling her arm into her chest in particular. I think the clothes should cover more of her left arm.

Over all I think it's pretty good. The light, especially, is nice.

first off the belly is wrong. you can see the lines from the dress that it is pointong outward and upward
your x-ray is twisted too much. also you're trying too hard on enlarging or protruding the butt.
the bottom leg's thighs is connected and flows to the butt and not disconnected like in your drawing. you're trying to protrude the butt. this is not stylized shot.
over all I suggest really is to hide the layer, redraw again, repeat and hide, repeat. that's a quicker way to learn and if you seem stuck come back here.

also the mistake here is that's advanced even if you're good. you're changing the proportions which changes every element. you have to restart to 5-6heads model and then scale up depending on your stylization.
also it's not like there are no refs for young figure skaters or even ballet. look up "ballet kick child" or something. if it's hard to find shots look at a video or a competition.

Looking at it again i can see now that i bent her pelvis too much, didnt even notice the creases on her stomach and just assumed her belly was pointing downwards. Also tried to shorten her legs a bit to make her 5-6 heads tall. I dont want dwell too much on this so I'll just call it done and be mindful next time. Thanks for the critique

nothing stopping you from just making a template of her proportions and reusing that for literally everything. that's not even a really weird angle. but when you start drawing in extreme angles you just simply do what feels right. it's like music, you know it when it sounds wrong. you just have to train your eyes to be good and not allow puke art appreciation.

the trick though that other people don't seem to understand is you NEED to shift the hues
when I do shading I tend to rotate to left or right of the hue bar(or ring).
depending on how I want to portray, I either shift to bluish or reddish. green also works but it's harder to achieve. well nothing stopping you really with what you do. the best part is you have unlimited canvas.

one tip is to look at the thumbnail. the first is not very great, the second is kinda okay but there's a huge contrast for her right elbow part. you have to first figure out shading styles since you seem to be training it so I'll give you an honest one
well you gotta develop feeling and referencing, find he style you like the most in some artists, or combine them all. pretty sure you know that already. ai is good since it references with real world photos and overlay/merged that training data to the anime stuff. that said the best reference is the real world. but it's still fun to practice with your mind and I like that you do, I think our brain is already capable enough, to make dreams indistinguishable from reality.

The resources I have like anatomy books almost solely focus on the adult forms and I don't seem to be able to reconstruct the juvenal form from the adult form, due to my lack of experience.
