If you are a /beg/inner or /int/ermediate in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice.
Use this thread instead of making new threads or post in the drawthread with fundamental exercises.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS wide using one of the following methods:
1. screenshot the image and post that instead
2. change camera capture settings to something smaller
3. send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK.
When giving feedback, avoid vague "advice" - point what's wrong and try to give the anon you're quoting a clear direction to improve their art (study heads < watch THIS VIDEO about head structure, read THIS SECTION of THIS ARTIST'S BOOK, etc).
You, feedback seeking anon, should also try to be clear and concise when asking for critique/help. When posting your artwork, say what you want help with, and what's your goal with the study/artwork.

What is the best construction method that is very "Intuitive" and that gets stuck in your head with a click moment? I struggle with using boxes for a body construction, it doesn't seem natural, but it makes sense because boxes portrait the perspective the best. Using spheres, or egg shapes, is harder in perspective. I have absolutely no problem drawing a body from the front now, but everything that involves foreshortening makes everything I try to draw fall apart, and I need to do constant changes and it never looks right. There are several methods on youtube and everyone is different, which confuses and fatigues me.

you need to think of hair of just another shape to add texture to.
and dont make the farther away saber tooth the bigger one, if you make one bigger than the other then make the closer one bigger.
as it is your eye immediately focuses on the one farther away and you think "is this a mistake or is the one in the back bigger than the one in the front - ah the one in the back is bigger, ok" if the one in the front is bigger you wont even think about it.

It's probably giving you so much trouble because the head actually doesn't make much sense as a 3D object, certainly not an anatomically correct Loomis Head™.
Which isn't a bad thing, because it certainly fools the eye into thinking it does. It was only when I started to run it through the 3D Loom-o-Matic™ Image Scanner that I even really noticed it, myself.
What we should learn today is that we don't try to learn or apply hard, factual, realistic anatomy, construction, and perspective from or to stylized work, because the artist almost assuredly gleefully broke the rules of all three. This doesn't just apply to anime, western cartoons do it too.
Of course, the artist in question most likely learned all three of those things first, but then let their soupy, weird subconscious mind run with it instead of autistically constructoiding perfect 3D models. So the end result is something that almost makes sense as a 3D object and even fools you into thinking it does, but is actually warped and shifted so that it looks better as a 2D image to the eye. It's a hybrid of 2D and 3D thinking, the inner symbol drawing retard and autistic constructoid connected in perfect harmony.

they teach the same things. The whole point of the book is to teach you to duplicate what you see accurately. The training for that hasn't changed in hundreds of years.

When you can copy well, start getting into construction, which allows you to draw from imagination.

you put it wherever you want. Where you put the side plane determines which direction the head faces.

Thing is, there isn’t really a “best”. Not everyone works the same way, which is why there’s so many different methods to begin with. You gotta sit down and try out different ones to get a better idea for what works for you. I’d personally recommend Vilppu as he goes over several different ways to construct the figure, but you also check out Hampton, Loomis, etc.

besides studying the perspective rules, you can try breaking down the figure into simpler forms that are easier to draw and position in perspective. also, drawing the orthogonal views can help you see the proportions in each dimension.

(Never posted hope the image isnt bad)

So basically this and another image are my last drawings of the month, I stoped drawing for a long time, , but I saw a kim jung gi video and got mesmerized! i want to be able to draw from imagination, I am not against reference, but I do want to get better at recalling what I see, been practicing some fundies on perspective too and a little of imagination work, what you see in this images are a mix of imagination, image drawing, and life drawing I am better at image drawing, sometimes by fluke I can make something good by imagination, and my memory almost always sucks, thanks for the critique I will grind out whatever advise you give!

Oh the image was bad ._. Well I dont know how to fix it, if you want to see a picture I can post it individually.

I think I improved a lot on faces atm just side faces but I still suck at drawing them from life. I dont want to draw super realistic, i like anime, and also kim jungs more stylized work, what should I practice? Should I keep doing faces? perspective seems alright but anatomy is lacking, the right shoulder seems minuscule in relation to the size of the arms and neck, they must harmonize, I would reference some other anime characters with a similar build to correct the shoulders, or even not anime, the eyes in particular eyelashes look bad, like an after tought reference them too, there are like a million anime lashes to choose from, also light is confusing why is the neck the brightest area? Mostly the colors, but there are some that doesn't look appealing from the start, like the rainbow one.
The purple one compensates by having colors that aren't so shocking to the eyes and doesn't make you have a headache,
The blue one could be much better by just making her a good haircut and soothing the blue and purple.
