The problem with AI retouching is that it completely kills your image. It is valid in theory, but in practice you just take your image you spend how many hours working on and then put AI filter on it, now you have picture that everyone can tell was made with AI. It has the AI shading, the AI fucked up details like >>6683674 and the lines on the gun, it has fucked up teeth and so on. Now nobody will believe you it was actual picture but retouched by AI, because you might as well get the same picture asking Midjourney and prompting it with 2 sentences worth of text. I dont care personally if people retouch their images with AI, I just want to warn people to not do that for their own good, because people who enjoy AI art already have plenty of similar quality but lower effort pictures in their feed that look almost identical to this, and people who dislike AI art will dismiss it in 1 second once they notice the weird lighting, unnatural contrast and other artefacts. This is what I mean by you fucking up your picture, you might think it has increased quality but it lost its label of not being AI, thus dragging its quality down. And it wont become industry standard that quickly, AI retouching again is almost year old, just as old if not older then public release SD and it is still not being adopted because people can tell. - Pic is clearly painted on, this kind of promotional artwork is usually made with 3d models and like a ton of photobashing, does it really change that much if these steps are skipped? It's just a couple extra steps of soulless, but it's not like a white-to-black change
- Pic is literally the same IP that made duke nukem forever. It's literally there, in the name, duke nukem
- AI image generation is not a fad at all, but i believe that AI image generation in its current state is. Not surprising that many shitty game companies are jumping on this.
