I believe people here draw degen art because it brings easy attention and can make up for a lack of skill. Not to say they can’t improve, because everyone can, but the shock value generally helps with getting eyes on the product. Even if there are “better” artists out there.

did the success of sakimichan play a big role in the "takeover" of coom art? It wasn't like this before she turned degen.

Feng Zhu, Lately I've been thinking a lot about him and the actual AI situation. He's all about pragmatism, business, getting shit done, etc, and I wonder what's happening now with his school model. I wouldn't be surprised if he made an 180° on his stance on digital art, and embraced AI full on as a tool to produce shit at a mass scale level and reducing costs as much as possible as well.

can't find any comments on AI from him. I wouldn't be surprised if he doubles down on trad methods instead, which he still teaches, "draw through" etc. his instagram is full of that type, showing the process too. Feels like something good to do since rendered 'mood' concept art is easy for AI, but deliberate functional designs like he used to do for games are not.

If that's the case then I would be shocked in a positive way. The reason I think he could be turning on to AI, is the way he embraced photobashing, it was quite shocking to me how unashamedly he taught photobash, pasting photos on top of photos till the concept image was almost done. That said something about his way of doing stuff, quick and to the point. I'm interested because I know he follows what the "industry" dictates as production standards
