I posted this too late in the previous thread so it didn't get any responses. This is work from the past two months. Last year, I posted my work and was told by many that I was high /beg/. I still consider myself high /beg/ because my fundamentals and anatomy knowledge are still severely lacking, and I find myself guessing what to do more often than not. Still though, I want to know where other people think I'm at, and what I can potentially improve on.

>> No.6658285

>>6658264
I would consider you high /beg/, near the ceiling and almost breaking through to the bottom of low /int/. Things that would be helpful to work on is grasping a better understanding of line art and line weight. The black and white Naruto stuff looks nice, but then you have stuff like the one with the moon and then your lineart goes all over the place in certain areas. Regardless, you clearly are working on lineart and you're doing a good job on rendering practice, keep going.

>no ankles
Go look at how the tibia and fibula cradle the talar (talus? Idk) bone. It's basically hinge like on a action figure, desu easiest joint to draw in a more advanced 'wedging and locking' way. Doing that for your forms is your next step anyway, so might as well investigate that

>> No.6661893

>>6661886
thanks, i though the ankle was hidden when you wear shoes

>> No.6663089

>>6661893
well the left shoe wouldn't hide it, usually shoes cut that low even have a little 'dip' for the ankle. and the right shoe is cut higher (they don't match in ur pic) and looks more like a high-top (which ankles are still visible through if it's a canvas material, like skate shoes are). But the way you drew it, it really just looks like the whole foot is just a cylindrical stump because we're looking at the leg from (mostly) the back. In this case, at the level of detail you're using, the way way to communicate "back of foot" not "cylinder stump" is to add in the ankle.

also a skateboarder would almost never have their foot turned inward that far, that's an extremely unlikely and awkward pose. Now I'm straight-up nitpicking because I used to skate, but IMO even people who didn't skate would see that something is 'wrong' subconsciously because they've never seen someone in that position on a skateboard.

thanks gonna keep it in mind for the next drawing. ngl i prioritized the dynamic pose over a realistic one, but i should have taken more time to fix it regardless
