Can /ic/ recommend a good app for drawing on Android tablets? What I'm looking
>zoom in/zoom out feature
>infinite scrolling
>layering
>smooth line correction
>plenty of brushes & tools
>possible built-in animation feature (optional)

Bruh that's an Apple app. It's not gonna work on my tablet because it's Android. I don't have an Apple tablet.

Then sell your Android tablet a buy something that actually was designed to draw on.

The only half-decent app for drawing on Android is CSP. iOS has more professional because art app devs don't take Android seriously.

Anyway, since probably you already bought a Samsung tablet before doing your research:
Try: Infinte Painter, CSP, HiPaint, Krita.
Avoid: Medibang, Ibis Paint, Sketchbook.

I can vouch for infinite painter, its meant to be the procreate of android. Feels good to use and does what I need it to do.

samsung tab s8 ultra is goated but you pay a premium for it. the S7+ is also very solid I'd recommend it over the regular S8 if you aren't going to payout for the ultra, get a wacom one stylus and maybe the tabmate or a bluetooth keyboard. Use CSP or infinity painter for portable drawing and pay for the SuperDisplay app it is worth every penny and lets you use your tablet as a functional touch monitor for a laptop/PC with essentially no latency and it retains pressure sensitivity so you can use photoshop or whatever other program you'd like with it.
>t. used the S7+ for about a year and a half then upgraded to the S8 Ultra

CSP on android has essentially full functionality as the desktop version which btfo of procreate and samsung tablets literally use wacom EMR you are talking out of your ass iFaggot

He's probably that wacom schizo lol, you can consider his advice irrelevant.
I've used Medibang years back for years as well and it is perfectly fine. After CSP got ported to Android as well I ditched it for more features and handy key shortcuts that quickly speed up my workflow. I already have CSP license on PC so I get a double license for both my android tablet and phone to draw while travelling.

So anons is it worth it to get a Wacom One Stylus if I use a Galaxy Tab S7?
Like does it change the experience that much? Do I need to bou felt tips or a screen protector for the scratching?

I use Artflow on my phone with a cheap stylus. It does ~4 of the 6 things you ask for, and it fits my needs perfectly, so I don't look at the alternatives. Pic is something I did recently.

What do you consider a cheap stylus? I want one with a pointed end and not rounded like an eraser.

unfortunately, clip studio is the only good one.
infinite painter has tons of bugs and has deleted my work multiple times, ibis paint has a weird built-in stabilizer that doesn't go off even when you put it to zero plus its functionalities are too basic. the rest is more or less the same: decent but lacks a lot of basic functions and/or have too many bugs

I bought a pressure-sensitive sonarpen awhile back, but any dollar disc-tip stylus will do just fine. I got one since all my devices are 6-7 years old with 3.5mm ports, so it seemed like a good choice.
>>6655631
This is also true, I tried a lot of other apps before settling on artflow, and they're pretty jank in general. In fact, it's the only app that works with the stylus I have, as far as I'm concerned.

i only have to pay for procreate once and it's mine forever. CSP is monthly subscription and I'm not getting wrapped up into that shit. Even if Celsys sends a hot japanese woman to suck my dick every month I still won't.

Unlike adobe it doesn't seem that one can crack the android version, sadly

I want one to draw on my Android phone, and I went on Amazon to see what they had. What does a stylus do that a rubber tipped stick cannot? $35 for the cheapest of them makes me leery.

Oh abso-fucking-lutely
I've just replaced my old Tab S3's S Pen with both the Wacom One Pen and the Steadler Norris Jumbo EMR. You'd never know how big of an improvement an ergonomic pen would do to you until you've held them in your hand in person. For me, I love the Steadler Norris Jumbo, it makes it soooooo good for any precision work like lineart or just simply note taking, helps that it comes with eraser on its other end, making taking notes/erasing a second nature. I'd say both performs slightly better than Samsung's own S Pen. The Wacom One pen I've relegate it for painting because it tends to glide more on the screen. Pressure curve I'd say the Wacom One pen is slightly better with lower IAF

The only difference is if they're "active" or "passive", as far as I'm aware. Rubber-tips, disc-tips and the like are "passive", they don't do anything beyond registering touch.
The "active" ones usually allow for pressure sensitivity and gesture commands etc., but a lot of them are made to work only for specific phones/tablets, so it's kind of pointless for the average mid-range device.
Again, just buy any cheap (but sturdy) passive stylus, especially ones with a disc-tip because they glide more effortlessly on the screen compared to the rubber ones.
I actually don't recommend the sonarpen unless you're desperate for pressure sensitivity.

Wrong, idiot.
Android has super display, which is better than any Apple app for using a smart tablet as a desktop tablet. Maybe Astropad can compete, but its $99 per year lmfao.

No one's talking about using ipads as wacoms what the fuck? If I get one of those tablets it means I want to draw on the go, not to mention how fucking shit these are to draw on compared to an intuos pro.

Drawing on the go is just one of many reasons. Other reasons include far better quality displays and better gesture functionality. Using one of these tablets for desktop is absolutely a valid usecase.

Also, Android Tablets have Krita.

If you're on PC you have a full fucking keyboard, use it.

The other anon already mentioned it earlier but that's pretty cool. Kinda wish SAI could come to tablets, procreate sucks balls.

I have really liked Infinite Painter so far. It's intuitive and felt the smoothest out of the 7 or so I tried. I still have the free version which limits the brushes and tools but it works for my little sketches I do on the go.

>> No.6663000

Yeah IP is pretty untuitive. I pretty much justifies a purchase right away because it's not even subscription based like tons of mobile apps nowadays. Wish CSP has the same level of intuitiveness instead of just a direct port from PC feature per feature
