Those are three monsters, they come from the /i/ rpg comic (same as tortellini and dragon lady ), not much lore except they are usualy looking for turtollini (probably useless fact, I don't think that anything that happens in this tournament will be canon in the comic anyway) and also because they are monsters, they talk monster language, bassicaly speak in images instead of words

-The fluffy one is scrimblo bimblo, leader of the group, not much exept he has some brain and random stuff on his fur

-second is bubble slime (yeah straight out from dragon quest, the first one is actually from a game called croc anyway) he can do slime stuff and is made from a poisonous and accidic substance

-last one is firebird, can fly, put things on fire and reincarnate itself at a different form, usualy come back to it's original form after dying on a reincarnated one

Location: Frnce and Mnaco (nothing outside the European continent)

- Each character of your team has to choose (at least) three "relaxing" activities or "hobbies" that you want to explore with them. Ex: Reading, Shopping, Cooking, Concert, Dating, Filming, Painting, Stealing, Scamming, Playing pranks, etc, etc.

- This list of characters and activities will help me to match them with their opponents. Keep in mind that the more obscure the activity, the less likely you are to find an opponent.

- The winning condition? As always: Entertainment. The same rules of Stage 1 apply here.

They had an overall great delivery, if you can't sit through 20 minutes of a show, it's your attention span that is at fault.
It's 19 minutes for 6 competitors, so 3-odd minutes for each character.
I'm sure reading some of the comics took more than 3 minutes (Pauline excluded, very quick read).

I for one voted on Manarchy 2 or 3 times, and I already expressed my opinion non-anonymously that the problem was not envy or butthurt or anything of the sort, but how a 19 minute sets extremely high expectations that you can't humanly deliver.

Splag delivered 90 seconds of animation, less than half of each Manarchy member on average, and his animation had 1500+ frames.
I am almost positive that there aren't 1500 frames in the 19 minutes of animatic we saw (excluding panning and whatnot).

You can't call an animatic an animation and expect to get votes for that; it will end up registering as mostly a comic, you're basically on equal footing with the comic deliveries in terms of chosen medium.
However, no one should dismiss it just because he thinks it's a bad format, many comics failed in their pacing as well, but I don't see complaints about it.

The more comics you watch, the more you understand about all characters, all information on Round 1 is fresh and new, and I soaked (almost) everything up from everybody. This is what's fun about this tournament.

I didn't see that. But I did get a lot of "free" art from the (in my opinion) most skilled artist in the team, Prince Alexis anon.

And being all in one package means it comes off as one entry to be consumed at once, as opposed to 6 comics which I can take breaks between.

It's not the audience's fault that something is too long, its a perfectly valid critique and its something everyone universally agreed on for Pauline's comic as well.

Also there's an inherent difference between comics and a video in that i can easily scan entire pages in a few seconds tops. If the comic isn't interesting I can easily read 20 pages in under a minute. I can't do the same with a 6 minute animation.

Art has pacing and pacing is part of it. I agree "being too slow" is valid criticism, but, as stated, you can just pause. I gave it my all too man I worked for 2week basically non-stop because I knew I just couldn't make subpar content. I don't even really care about winning I just wanted to have fun with my team because it really did seem fun in the being and agreed to go hard should the cute boy dream team become a thing.
