I was just on an artist's blogspot for the first time in yonks, and I must admit, I was wondering why everyone left it?
It's customisable, but not so much that it can become an atrocious mess, it's got comments, allows adult content, blah blah blah - The issue likely stemmed from a lack of a "time-line" to look at what your friends had posted, so you would have to go directly to their blog. There's also still likely a lack of any recommendation feature to find new interesting blogs.

If they simply added a few small extra features, it'd make it competitive again as a social media platform, because as basic as it is currently, it's still quite nice.

>Maybe Substack
I've wondered why subtstack isn't brought up more often - it's essentially just blogspot/blogger, but with the ability to monetise in mind. Seems great for artists. Though I have no idea what their NSFW policy is, or how it works as a social site (communicating with others, forming communities, or finding other artists), so it might stick too closely to the blogspot model.
