How many likes do you get on your art on average in social media outside of this place?

>> No.6609296

Just 1 like from your mom on the book of the face.

>> No.6609324

i usually get 5-12 likes on twitter with 70 followers
but i get 50+ once in a while which is nice

>> No.6609349

On Pixiv 100-200, DA 100-200 and in Twitter 50-100. Pics combining wedgie and/or facesitting to my usual stuff get a clear boost, same with cuntbusting. Pixiv and DA likes grow over time, top works there have 500+, with Twitter only the first 24 hours makes it relevant

Pixiv is definitely the opposite of Twitter. As my work clears certain thresholds, it seems to result in more favorites per day. Like a month old work with a few hundred likes will get more favorites per day than it did within the first whole week of it being up. As with any site, post a lot, leave your old work up, the more you have up the more attention your gallery will get, and just because something seemed like a "dud" at first, it could very well be that their search just hasn't favored it it, but after slowly gaining views, it will begin to grow exponentially.
Twitter though, yeah, if something doesn't pop-off right away, chances are it will just remain in obscurity unless somebody with a decent following retweets it later. It's also why it might be a good idea to make, and then later post, different versions of drawings which were good but didn't get that initial traction.

Basically, if you want to reduce the gaming aspect of posting, something like Pixiv is probably a better long term choice in terms of things picking up steam and remaining relevant even months after posting, even though you're probably not going to have the chance of blowing up like you have with Twitter.

3 to 5. Sometimes 80 when I draw popular stuff like Vtubers or some guy's OC and they retweet me.

Yeah, Twitter might not get you picked up. I'd recomend building your audience in DA and Pixiv. Once you get audience there that has picked you up for your art subject and style, playing Twitter gets easier because your DA and Pixiv fans will retweet you and your algorithm network picks up who your possible audience is, making you reach people better

IG: 15-20, but it's the same people every time that I know irl, so I assume they're just pity liking it to be nice. Appreciated, but still not so great since I never gain any new followers.
Pixiv: 20-50 likes/bookmarks, slightly more gain in followers, but I think most are probably bots

On Twitter if I do a musclegirl 100+, with my most popular ones getting ~700, anything else 10-50

>> No.6609734

500-1k for a finished sketch. 2-5k for an actual painting. 10k for a painting that for whatever reason hit on something for lots of people, or well timed fan art that I put a lot of polish on.

I haven't posted regularly in months though. Life took a downturn a while back and I feel like I lost my mojo or whatever. I'd honestly rather get less engagement but be excited for art like I used to be. Also having lots of eyes on your work can be anxiety inducing. I'm grateful to get attention but it doesn't infinitely fuel me like I imagined it would years ago. During those times when I first got attention, it gave me tons of anxiety and I'd find myself obsessing over whatever artist was on the rung above me and why whatever they were doing was more appealing to people and why I couldn't do that etc. It was really unhealthy. Maybe its good that I don't care anymore. This is on twitter and I got my original foothold there back in like 2017. 30k followers now.

>> No.6609749

between 80-400~, 150 average. some more popular just purely because of i got the appeal just right. it is not bad lack and you people pretend its that or the algorithim. the sad truth it is not. i had pieces that made 15 likes, the pieces were i tried to have better appeal got around 400+ likes. in short, git gud.

Depends on the post for me.
The most likes I get are when I draw an OC for a big artist (they retweet it) that's usually at least 80 likes.
General fanart of different shows and properties gets me 20 to 30
My own OC gets at least 15 but I've noticed many of them outperforming general fanart with some reaching 30 to 50.
I have around 240 followers.
I'm very happy with my "metrics" right now.

I used to post daily for a year, sexy girls. I’ve since quit social media so none now. The dopamine manipulation was too much to endure everyday, causing depression. I wish social media had no likes or clout measurement but it does and they emotionally manipulate its users with it. I tried ignoring it and it doesn’t work.

Is what a zoomer thing? I actually really tried being social and interacting with people on twitter. If you aren’t in their clique, they give you a brush off like and ignore you. I tried drawing for people, threw in some comedy with their oc’s and again, got the brush off like. I get more interaction from 4chan. It’s a big reason I quit twitter. Unless you know people right off, it’s a dead site. I really fucking tried fitting in with artists on there but they are not interested. They don’t even respond to comments trying to engage with them about THEIR work, and these are people around my number of followers btw. I’m not trying to talk to big follower accounts. Social media is the most antisocial shithole I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying to be apart of. Only places I’ve found any good for socializing is discord and 4chan. Everything else is some weird popularity contest where unless you have 10k+ followers, you’re an invisible homeless person on the street nobody wants to talk to.

Happy it works for you tho man, guess I’m just a zoomer, whatever that means.

>> No.6611375

>>6611360
i dont interact through tweets, i interact through dms. i dont really care for the tweets themselves and i think that goes the same for most people. also 4chan is more antisocial because you dont know who you are talking to, feed back is nice up until they start to think they know what theyre preaching. the difference is i can block them.

>> No.6611380

>>6611360
also cliques and groups is not a twitter thing, being apart of one in general is hell and im never doing that again. no one should, it is too draining and not worth the time and effort. i was on the original /ic/ losers motivation thing, DAD(garbage site btw), and some other shit.

>If you aren’t in their clique, they give you a brush off like and ignore you
But have you ever asked yourself why that is?
It is not solely because you're
>not in their clique
but because there are a lot of legit weirdos and underage retards on twitter who want to either waste your time by baiting you into inane arguments or simply just want your attention to push their own profiles.

Those people you might want to interact with might be weirdos themselves and will not accept you unless you're a weirdo exactly like them.

The problem with social media is the asocial people, who will pop out of whatever gutter they reside and try to fuck shit up for everyone else.

You want to know why i personally don't really socialize with the anons on this board outside of 4chan? Because most here are the exact same people who don't consider you a real person unless you have a huge following and they can gain numbers from interacting with you.

Some advice for life; Never do try to actually fit in, you never know in what kind of bug infested hellhole with no escape you might find yourself in.
Bee yourself.
Bugs will avoid you and you will not feel the need to connect with them, only other bees will be able to fly alongside you.
