do you break down references into muscles and bones?

If you're asking, this means you're /beg/ enough to set anatomy aside for now. Once you'll be /int/ enough, you'll naturally know how to study anatomy.

Anatomy is a high /int/ topic; definitely not a fundamental.

やばい、you beat me to it! I was gonna post this too.

Read this guide while you're at it, OP. Comic book artists are masters of anatomy, and a pro comic artist wrote this roadmap, designed to bring you from 0 to pro:

You can test your knowledge by breaking down references into muscles and bones but obviously you can't learn anything new from it.

How do you copy a book from imagination?

Are you suppose to just remember all of the illustrations in the book?

>> No.6611784

>>6611762
1. look at the illustration
2. memorize it
3. close the book
4. redraw it

It's not really imagination drawing, it's memory drawing

>> No.6611786

>>6611784
and what? just see the image in my head???

>> No.6611791

>>6611786
No, just put your pen to the age and start drawing lines you had just drawn with ref, without it. Part muscle memory, part visual memory and part verbal memory(names of muscles for eg). You don't need to literally see it in your head.

what if I imagine the image on the paper and draw from that? is that cheating?

No, I enjoy natural selection. Assuming you keep drawing, in a few years, you'll understand, and you'll blame your older self for being so reckless.

that anon seems to be explaining it in a shit way
>go through bridgman, copy it all
>take some time to practice doing other things gesture, your own work, figure/other anatomy studies from other references
>return to bridgman at a later date
>for each drawing in the book, you look at it, close the book and then see how much all that information you've soaked in over the past few months/years has managed to stick
people seem to think that drawing bridgman twice means drawing it once and then immediately going through it again after, that isn't the case, give it time between to use what you managed to learn the first time through

Bridgman is too stylized, he's great but definitely not for beginners. I'd do a lengthy Vilppu course first, on top of perspective and construction. >>6611289
