Well, I'm not entire opposed to the idea of switching to using AI myself. I've always seen the actual drawing part of comics to be tedious. However, at least for the time being, AI is absolutely nowhere near where it needs to be to make comics the way I want them to be. It's too imprecise, too inconsistent and too damn unwieldy. You can't get cool line work, you can only realistically get a few generic angles, you can only really wrangle the output so much. At least as far as comics go, drawing the thing yourself will get the best results for some time yet.
Learning isn't useless at all, at least when it comes to comics. Because comics aren't purely drawing skill. It takes a shitload of skills to draw a comic beyond just anatomy, perspective etc. Even if AI eventually became good enough that it's actually a reasonable alternative to drawing it yourself, you're still practicing skills that you will continue to use.
